Spit ballin' on comps for lan.....

just a few random ideas for LAN comps just to throw out some variation.

CS:S options
Shotty only
Scout knifes (anyone else remeber this?)
Lego or rats maps

COD4
standard option for us really is domination as this provies the most team orientated play.
how about Team Death Match Kill house or shipment.

Well this is pretty quick anyway and is a very loved competition among many.... But is there an option I don't know about that we can spin on it??

Racing game
........................................................... well I know crap all about racing.... can we make it in dodgems or summin???


Now these Ideas may seem a little like ive lost my mind but im just trying to inject a little randomness in to the LAN for giggles, any suggestions???

Deagle= deffo. It's fast paced and totally awesome
CS:S= If you want a comp that everyone's pc will love, then this is the one. however, it is getting past its sell by date.
CoD4= headquaters is a great mode. some games can go on for ages though.(but very tense)
TDM is ok, but doesn't really do the game justice. dom is ok, but HQ is better imho.
DM is a blast with just a few on the server.

if it were my vote, I'd say:
Deagle comp as per usual.
CoD4 HQ or Dom
and anything else you want:)

Looks good to me.

I know what you're saying about CS:SBlunt, however it's an easy game to organise, everyone is familiar with it and the maps and it always draws in 90% of attendees as most people have it.

Racing game
........................................................... well I know crap all about racing.... can we make it in dodgems or summin???

not sure about dodgems but there is a mode in Lfs for Drag racing
it doesn't Take to much skillz, just flipping the gears and keeping it in a straight line.
we tried it one day over the xmas period and it was great fun :yes:

i remember a few lan's back the staff all did time trials on OB's pc
maybe we could get everyone to jump on one of the racers pc's and set a time
that way its a comp everyone can have a go at and have half a chance at setting a decent time
thou i would still like there to be the normal lan race (want to get revenge on TL :flirty:)
i for one would be happy for my pc to be used for it

CS:S = 10 years celebration, I vouch totally weird maps like lego
CoD4 = Personally I like capture the flag more, its less dependent on spawnings.
LFD2 = I forgot the mode, but you have to collect fuel, that mode should be nice and exciting for a tournament. Its like deagle, fast and fun.
