Who are you? Where are you from? How old are you? What kind of work do you do? What's your situation at home like?

My name is Richard Berwald, age 42, and since I was 15 years old, I'm interested in computers. So I studied Computer Science and found a job working with computers (System administration and consultancy). Still single and living in my own home.

What kind of internet connection do you have?

ADSL, 16Mb download, 1Mb upload

What are the core specs of your computer?

Quadcore I7, 6 GB mem, 1GB Ati 4800 Series graphics card, 75 GB SSD drive, 2x 20 inch screen.

How long have you been playing computer games and what kind?

Leisure suit Larry was the first that took a lot of time. Later on MMO's were discovered. First LP-MUDs, later Guild Wars and got hooked to WoW in december 2007. Still play Command & Conquer if I feel like it.

What kind of raiding experience do you have?

Limited to VoA, OS and Naxx, never finished Naxx :sideways:  Don't like to go raiding in pugs, too many bad experiences that gave me a bad play time.

What other guilds have you been in and why did you decide or were forced to move on?

Moms friendly guild was my first guild. Also where I did my limited raiding. Left MFG when it was almost empty. Currently in Castellum Warriors, the guild of my bank alt. Only me, myself and I are member.

Do you actively play any alts that we could find you in in case we need to contact you?

If you are a cross-server applicant, name someone from your home server that can vouch for you.

Aszune is the only server I play.

What are your plans for the game?

I like to get more into raiding. I like playing my hunter, but doing dailies get boring. Sofar I have kept away from the raiding, afraid it might interfere too much with work. Now my work does not require a lot of traveling, so I can commit myself to raids that go on a little longer into the night.

In what way would you like others to know you?

Since we are all playing because we like playing, I like to know how people enjoy their games. Chatting with people will lead to knowning them better.

Tell us about your personality, and why you enjoy the game.

I play games as a relaxation. After getting home from work, eating and any household chores that are required, I enjoy playing WoW.
Sometimes doing the dailies almost feels like work. That is why I keep leveling alts. Starting a level 1, choosing a spec, and then learning to play the character and see it grow in power, is a part of the game I still enjoy.
The limited raiding I did in MFG I enjoyed too. The raiding team work is the best part about raiding. Growing as a team.

Name one thing you don't like about WoW in its current state.

Survival is main spec at the moment.

Why did you decide to play this class?

After several trial accounts, when I started with a full account, being a team by myself (hunter + pet) looked really attractive. It was the right choice. (But I also enjoy my priest, mage, dk, rogue, ...)

What do you think your class' role is in raid content?

Do damage and avoid getting damage. In certain fights, extra tasks like freeing players from webs, things a hunter can do easily (or any ranged dps), but you should not be a burden for your tanks and healers.
And stay out of the colored patches on the floor.

Comment on your build. Why did you choose it? What do you think of other builds of your class? Why didn't you choose one of those? (important question)

I started as a beast master when WotLK came out. Mainly to get the extra talent points for my pet, the chance to get special pets. When BM was nerved and I was still a bit raiding with MFG, I switched to Survival. When I left MFG and raiding became distant, I stopped optimizing my hunters performance and speccing. I geared up using emblems, but stopped looking for that little extra performance that can make a big difference in raiding.
I have to read up on all high end raiding specs and the pro and cons to be able to answer why I should (not) pick a different spec. MM seems to be the best a the moment, but my SV spec is very nice how I currently play.

What do you look for in a guild?

A relaxed environment without big obligations like 5 nights a week, 5 hours raiding. Fun and team work.

''Dead Men Raiding'' - What comes to mind when you see that guild name?

Not much yet, but heard the people in Dead Men Raiding have a relaxed and nice attitude.

There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us?
Who do you know in Dead Men Raiding? How do you know them?

Gillian Taylor (Améthyst/Aubergenie and many others) and Yonit Marks Bertelsen (Boonity/Boospirit/...) told me it was a nice guild with nice people. That is more important to me than going for realm first in any achievement.

Have you read our 'what we look for' and 'philosophy' posts? What do you think of them?

I've read those pages. I have no problem with defined leadership. Playing together and socializing are parts I miss from MFG.

Annoying questions

A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do?

Since I can misunderstand peoples intentions easily, especially when you do not know people that well, I most likely will stay silent at first. If it a person keeps going on, I will try to ask the person to stop. If that will not help, and since DMR has a defined leadership, I will ask someone else to talk to that person.
