Another old Silver Oak Guardian, knocks on your doors

Who are you? Where are you from? How old are you? What kind of work do you do? What's your situation at home like?

Hey all, I'm Richard, 22 years old, I live in Holland and I currently work as a work preperator at Norma-MPM at the composites department. There I make sure people work on the work they are supposed to be, and make sure they still can, in the future (by testing new technology/materials, and bring in new orders from other companies). We make Radar parts, structures and/or modules. Our department makes the composite structures and parts that will or will not block radar, emc etc. My situation at home is stable, and I live with my parents, but I'm keeping an eye open for a house I'd like to buy (though that might still take up to 2/3 years).

What kind of internet connection do you have?
<10 mbps ADSL, though not always as stable as I would like.

What are the core specs of your computer?
Its a quadcore Q6600, with 4 gb ddr2 and a Geforce 8800 GTX graphics card.

How long have you been playing computer ames and what kind?
Almost since I draw my first breath. Started playing MSX games, advaced to Commander Keen series and Tyrian at age of 5/6-ish. After that played games like NFS, FIFA Soccer, C&C, Tycoon Series etc. Before ending up with WoW 5 years ago. After a year or so I joined SilverOakGuardians (after playing horde) and with that came into contact with Deadmen and started playing CS:S, L4D, COD4 etc.

After quitting wow 7-ish months ago, I played Aion for a bit, but even though that game was stunning, it couldnââ,¬â,,¢t held my interest, due too lack of community, slow advancing with professions, and will, it just lagged WoW ââ,¬Å"flavorââ,¬Â.

What kind of raiding experience do you have?
MC, BWL, AQ40, Naxxrammas.

What other guilds have you been in and why did you decide or were forced to move on?
Boys from the horde (aggramar ââ,¬â€œ horde) after disbanding some other guilds I forgot
After reentering WoW, I started playing on Aszune ââ,¬â€œ Alliance, thanks to Bastet (back then a student in my class). And started in Silver Oak Guardians as Luminance a nelf rogue, I think Iââ,¬â,,¢ve been in Genesis for a little while after most left but then quited soon after when I started overdosing WoW with my draenei shaman. After rejoining with Wotlk I joined Eyes of Rha, and raided with them, untill I got bored of wow in august last year and picked up other hobbies.

Do you actively play any alts that we could find you in in case we need to contact you?
No, Iââ,¬â,,¢m currently installing the game again.

What are your plans for the game? In what way would you like others to know you? Tell us about your personality, and why you enjoy the game.
My plans are to level up one of my old alts and enjoying the game, with out obligation of raiding at (several) nights. Iââ,¬â,,¢d like to see others see me as a person they can talk to, have fun with and possibly worship me, oops did I say that out loud? .


Name one thing you don't like about WoW in its current state.
Paladins, plain and simple, though that might be because of my shaman favouritism
Seriously:
Gear Score and Achievements, it just fecks up the game as many kids purely look at this as a meter to how good you are, rather then looking at how you play the game, with the toon/gear you have.

Your character
My main is Luminescence a lvl 80 Shaman, think it was elemental main spec, though I would like to play either a druid or a rogue with Cataclysm (as Iââ,¬â,,¢ve played shaman for many years now horde and alliance).

So its either Luminance (rogue lvl 64) or Lumilicious (druid lvl 54) on which Iââ,¬â,,¢ll be playing a lot.

Why did you decide to play this class?
- Shaman because of the all roundness they had (now lack imo)
- Rogue because I like stealth
- Druid because they remind me of shaman and rogue, and are fun to play.

 What do you think your class' role is in raid content?
None, I have no plans in the near future to raid.

What do you look for in a guild?
A strong community that can have fun, and isnââ,¬â,,¢t all about goals, gear score, or attendance.

A bunch of loony folks, trying there best at raiding

There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us?
Because Iââ,¬â,,¢ve started to even like wow a lot more when I was in SoG and Iââ,¬â,,¢ve been a member of Deadmen for quite a while now too, as I like the people who play here, and their mentality towards games and playstyle. And frankly, I miss you guys :crying:

Who do you know in Dead Men Raiding? How do you know them?
Sokhar, Marduk, Lunares as real life friends, other deadmen LAN attendees in person, and most old SoG players, and most other deadmen members from other games.

Have you read our 'what we look for' and 'philosophy' posts? What do you think of them?
Yes, I think they are fair and constructive and should be a standard when it comes to guilds/community.

Annoying questions

A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do?
Depends on the severity I take it up with the admins, try to talk sense into him/her or ignore him/her if its minor.

Cake or Pie?
I bake a lot of cakes myself, so Iââ,¬â,,¢ll stick with that. (unless you have an apple pie )
I do love chocolate chip cookies, so you should change the question to Cake, Pie or Cookies!
