i dont like being treated like a c&$t or used, ive spent the last 12months in ulduar to progress to agalon ,which isnt striaght forward alot of wipe nights getting key ect (doesnt help when the 1st person that gets key fecks of to anther guild)then the wipes on agalon his self ,last week i spoke in ts3 and said shout me when u start ulduar as the week b4 it was agreed to take the same group as it was a massive progress whipe night,(atended every single run which cost around100gold plus a time) i wasnt inv and agalon was killed so **** u very much for the inv (i see jim got an inv)same goes with 10ICC i dont even get a look in now yet i remember havin to wipe on rotface for wot seemed like 2months when ppl couldnt be bothered whith the constant wiping, when i am online  i have the option of pvp now with my current situation i spent 7hours pvp'ing without a single win ,i even spent out and wasted gold on a 2vs2 as ppl in it are to busy ,im getting pretty ****ed off with the game and ppl just not helping out e.g glory of the hero well i know ive helped out ppl with ach before for there ach,now i only have 5 left(all done by myself in pugs) i ask in gchat and nothink so im thinking of quiting guild and moving on maybe  even quit wow all together dont know at the mo as my heads all over the shop atm
trying to wayup positives and negatives and theres more negatives atm

Dill, i guess i know how you feel. I've been quite busy in rl for some time, and will be for a couple of months at least, so usually when i log in groups are already sorted. I had to pug the groups with some friends to get the glory of the hero done, and i lately rely much more on friends pug (if those can be calle pug, anyway) than on guild runs, simply becouse, as i said, usually groups are already sorted and people are already saved.
However don't worry, since i don't think that there won't be another group for algalon in the future, and the same applies to the other "goodies" runs.
My suggestion is to stay tuned and check the forums/calendar when you can, and avoid thinking that there will be only one run of the kind in the whole year. :)

I don't think we have given up on algalon... This week we had to cancel Mal had the lockout and could not make friday. We still have loads of hard modes to do and we want to get the guys in that were not at the kill last time

I sympathise with a lot of what you're saying, some of which is true.

However, let me take you up on the Icc10 - I regularly post 10man runs on the calendar. And from the last 2 weeks, I only see your name signed up to one of them. (Feel free to correct me on this, I'm not familiar with all your alts if you did sign up on an alt.)

I missed that particular night as I was travelling t'North, so don't know if you were picked or not, so can't comment on that.

But these are excellent progress runs, and I aim to pick the best, most balanced 10man I can - this has meant leaving out some people I've raided with for years in favour of long term DMR members (eg Kained who sat out an entire week's Icc10).

On top of that, I don't see your name on the 10man Algalon run last Friday.

Quote from: FATAL;308899last week i spoke in ts3 and said shout me when u start ulduar as the week b4 it was agreed to take the same group as it was a massive progress whipe night,(atended every single run which cost around100gold plus a time) i wasnt inv and agalon was killed so **** u very much for the inv

Speaking as an experienced raid leader, shouting on TS is never enough. Especially when you're being bombarded by guildies all looking for an invite, 10 of whom you have to choose.

I'd recommend always, always signing up. This leaves a clear audit trail you can refer to, whilst saying something on TS leaves nothing.

Given the competition for places, signing up early and often is the best thing you can do.

As for your final point regarding guild chat/lack of help - unfortunately I reckon that's just the state of the game and the mentality of the modern WoW player.

Today provided a classic example - we had 13 DMRs in a VoA 25. After Toravon was killed one DMR member left the group, I asked why, he said "Cba to do Korolon". Despite 12 other guildies wanting to do the second boss.

I won't name names :norty:

i removed kracau from the guild tonight
here are my reasons

1: bored of playing my hunter, i was only logging him on for raids in genral.
2: the hunters u have now are better players than i will ever be on a hunter
3: well back when i went to japan i told the guild that i was going on hols for 2 weeks, so when i logged back in after my hols i got a nasty letter from the GL at the time which was mr jelly asking y i had'nt been online for raids adn if i did'nt attend he wud revoke my raiding status, so it came to me a big suprise when i havent had a raid slot for a good while

i'm sorry u think i'm being rash, but i'm not gone altogether still have my lock there

cya soon i'm sure(steven.aka kracau)

I think you're being rash.

And I think you'll not find a nicer bloke than Mr Jelly, so I am sure he wrote to you for a reason, perhaps as your holiday was not posted in the general absence thread so he was reviewing raider attendance?  Pretty much any guild would do that if a raider went afk without saying anything.  Can't find anything in the absence thread from you Kracau, so I guess you just went and did not bother to tell anyone?

Perhaps a better approach might have been to stick around and work with the other hunters and learn from them?

Krac's been available well before raid start time for the last few weeks and has been dropped from the raiding lineup for other raiders, so its not a case of him not being here. Can understand his frustration from that point of view.

But from another point of view I would be wondering why I wasn't being chosen over the other hunters, and like TL says..get some tips from the other hunters. They must be getting picked before you for a reason?

DFE

I have to step in here and say that Krac was really trying to improve, he came to me several times and asked for help so I gave him some advices, pointed him to my post in Ranged DPS forum and other web resources. I would like to see how will he improve but it looks like I wont have the chance to...

No need to step in at all, I was sticking up for Krac :/

Dannage, think you missed the above which was the bit I was referring to when talking about the absence thread.  It was not a case of 'he was around', he said he was away and I was simply trying to offer an explanation as to why he had a PM from Gandalf asking where he was.  Hope that explains it.

Even though this is from 2nd September 2009 i stlil think this is in effect

QuoteAttendance
More specifically raid attendance. We are primarily a social guild with a desire to raid officially three nights a week in the top instances. To do this we need a core raiding team of dedicated players willing to put in the time and effort to turn up on time and to learn all the relevant tactics for dMr to progress.

We have been fairly relaxed with our raiding rank (Honoured) and at the moment, once a raider always a raider. However, this will have to change as we are starting to get more and more people wanting to raid and others that just turn up every so often and expect a place. It makes it very difficult for the raid leaders to pick a solid team that we require to progress through the instance without wiping badly because we don't have enough healers, or we have too many melee.

Out of all the changes, this one will be the biggest, but it's not that bad! How it will work is this. We ask that you raid at least once every two weeks. This will allow people who work shifts to still keep their raiding rank but will weed out the members who have not raided for a while.

What I want to be able to do is to log on 30 mins before the raid and look at the calendar, confident that everyone on there will turn up. I can then sort the group out before hand and get everyone invited with the minimum of delay and we can start with out any delay.

We will be monitoring attendance with the logs, and here is how we will handle demotions. If after two weeks you have not attended a raid and we have not heard from you then you will have a mark against your name, and we will notify you of this (it will be between the officers and the person involved only, no one else will know). For the next two weeks you will need to raid at least once for this mark to disappear. If you do not, then we will automatically demote you to our social rank (Friendly) and you will lose your raiding spot.

heya mate, first of all i would like to say i would be sad to see you leave for sure mate. When it comes to icc 10 man i do agree with you we have progressed a lot as guild in 10 man and i think some feel let out regards to current 10 man runs, this is also something i talked to Jas about, at the moment it is off night runs and not a part of the raid schedule, so it is up to the guild to get 10 man running were i wish officer then bin from start with us would setup two runs but can we demand it? not really but there is deffently a part of me that i think it is wrong to leave the old 10 man group behind. i would rather see two going what ever the mixup because if both guild before the merge could each get a 10 man going why not now, it does not hurt to try get two runs going but i would think taking some from current 10 man setup and mix with second group so there is a better spread of officer and raid leaders (regards to tactics and such), and i think it is important for the officer to make the link so the ovo guys get to know who and what were going before and why, because it is normal to choose raiders that you know what can do.

Sithvid

I think that as long as the officers continually rotate the absence/attendee list so we all get a raid, and therefore all understand how it feels to be left out
(not when we fancy being left out, but when we are up for it)
then we will all understand each others view a bit more.

Personally I would rather know in advance but with RL, balancing the tank/dps/healz  DC  etc etc it makes it hard to predict 100% the attendance.

I don't think anyone should be left out for more than a couple of weeks if at all possible (like with Krac)

A gaant chart may help ?
