Steam won't connect

I haven't changed any thing on the PC since yesterday when Steam was working,
yet tonight I get a connection error.
Every other program connects afaik.

I restored to yesterday without luck.
I tried with/without firewall and anti-virus.
I'm going to do a router re-boot in a bit (Mrs is online atm)

any ideas?

maybe try reinstalling steam in the same directory would help.

I would attempt to locate any gamesaves within your games so you can retain your levels and hard work (esp. COD and BC2!).

At the end of the day it's Steam.. You can always reinstall your games etc as a last resort.

Worst case of course.

I can still play my games with steam in offline mode, just can't see friends:sad:
