See below for the summary of the Admin Guidelines that we all need to follow:

  •   Admin 1st, Gamer 2nd
  • Have access to current Admin Tool at all times
  • Seed the server as often as possible (this may be dropped once we develop a base)
  • Set a good example at all times - Example:
  • Move to appropriate TS3 channel as soon as threshold is met
  • Swap sides to balance Play (not just teams)
  • Show respect to all players on the server. Encourage those that are new.

  • Follow this simple process for kicks/bans:
  • Warn 3x for all Server Rule infractions - Use Server Messages
  • Kick on the 4th infraction - Post a Server Message as to why player was kicked (use Yell)
  • If the individual returns and continues the infraction, give one final warning
  • After that ban for 24hrs - Post a server message (use Yell) as to why
  • Post in the BC3 Admin Forum using a subject *** Banned *** - Player Name and then outline the reason why you issued a ban and confirm the steps taken before you issued the ban. Try also to remember names of other dMw members on the server at the time
  • Remember, if the ban is challenged you need to have followed the process and evidence this.

Guys,

Feel free to comment. Once everyone's had their say and the final adjustments have been made, I will be cleaning up the thread.

There's a couple of guidelines that I wanted to flesh out a bit for all of us:

1. Admin 1st, Gamer 2nd

This boils down to why we are admins and carry the badge. I realise this is not paid work but as an admin you have a certain expectation placed on you. First and foremost, when you're playing on our server you are there to ensure that those joining our server have a good experience. Good enough so they will come back.

It's important to uphold the server rules at all times and to help those that are new to our server, to understand the rules.

As long as the server is running smoothly, then game away. Keep a watch on the messages however as someone may ask for help. If they do, it's your responsibility to do what you can.

2. Have access to current Admin Tool at all times

When you fire up BC2, I would like you to have the Admin Tool (currently WolfCon) running too. If you have to alt-tab out, start up the tool and then issue commands, it's not very efficient. Try to keep it running at the same time.

Overall use your common sense and good judgement.

Seems fair enough to me.

Do we have a regular server message encouraging people to ask for a DMW admin should they require one?

If not, we should :)

Also, and I belive this was discuessed at the LAN, a welcome message for the server which notifies players who the admins are.

Good Idea Tut..

We will need to change the server messages to include new rules as well.

I'll work with Whitey and Valdeko on that.

Guys,

Just as a polite reminder, unless the suspect is blatantly cheating  (like massive K-D ratio), the admin guidelines limit bans to 24 hours. Please insure that you post up the ban in a separate thread.

Thanks,

NF

Just read this now. I will mend my bans that are overdone, and see that this is followed from now on. We had quite a few rulebreakers this evening, that may have gotten a bit too harsh punishment.
