OK guys,

I'd like your input. I'm in a real tough place right now...

I know that as the GL, the passion has to come from me. I'd like to think that I'm giving as much as I can.

Are you?

I'm trying to be fair here but I'm also trying to grow a game from the ashes and while we had some initial activity when I first took over, it's fallen off a cliff in the last couple of weeks. I've seen the server drop from the 83rd percentile (on Gametracker) to 58th. That is pathetic in my opinion.

Believe it or not, almost every night I'm working on something to do with dMw BC2. As an example last night after playing, I created a MSG Steam group following on from a Seeding Group that I've created. You will all receive invites shortly if you haven't received them already. Yes, that's my job as GL.

First of all, I value all of your input and contributions thus far (even Rizzy and DannagE who just became admins). However, my expectations are not being met by some of the admins and I'm considering more changes. Before I wade in with my Ugly-stick, I wanted to hear from you guys on what you think is fair and reasonable.

My expectation is that somehow we get the server going every night of the week. Yes, that is a big ask if you had to do it yourself. Not if you had help however. So I ask you:

Is it fair for me to expect that each of you commit to two nights per week playing BC2 on the dMw server to try and get a game going?

These don't have to be regular or concurrent nights (ie: one after the other). But I would like to understand from your point of view whether or not as an admin that playing BC2 two nights per week is unreasonable?

It's not difficult! Blunt and I proved it last night.. It only takes a couple of folks to get things moving and the server thrives. We can't exepct non-admins to join a dead server. We can't expect publics to join a dead server either. Why would they?!

So before I break out my "Louisville Judge" http://www.slugger.com/baseball/wood/mlb/gamep72dj.html

Tell me if I've lost the plot..

Whilst not an admin, I'll throw in my tuppence. It is well worth considering the time of year and the weather and other factors. We see it year in, year out, attendances do drop off as the summer kicks in and people realise there's life outside.

It may be aside from your points, but worth noting that it may be unreasonable to expect full commitment from all every week. Ã,£0.02

I agree Benny.
What with the WC and the lovely weather, it has been difficult to get any sort of game going.
As you know, if I'm online I'll always join a server to get things going at any time of year:D

I've not got much to add, I've no problems with what your asking for Ninj, but what Benny & Blunt have already mentioned seems to be whats doing us in at the mo, maybe things will pick up once the footies over with.

Well NJ, the "thing" with me is that i also play WoW and i am an active raider in it and the last week my Uni exams ended for this year and now im just relaxing and takeing a breather.
But i should be active again in the following days/week.

And during the summer 2 nights a week, its not much but you cant expect much either.

@Benny

Comments taken on board and I considered this reality before I posted. However, this game is using Community money, yours and mine. With all due respect, it's not costing dMw anything to have our other servers sitting idle (apart from the annual rackage). This game is also a Trial.

I'm here to make this work. I'm also looking for committed admins that are willing to do the hard graft now so we can all benefit from this great game. Let us not forget that Vietnam is not far away. If we want to keep this going or even make the switch, we need to get and keep this server full.

As much as we'd like them to, the publics aren't going to do this for us. we need to be committed ourselves as BC2 admins to get the server going.

I realise that it's not paid work. I know we're all volunteers. As game leaders, you and Blunt both know how much "free" time goes into making things work.

Even with the summer as awesome as it is, I still come across the usual servers that are full. Thas has come about through some organisation and effort but most importantly Seeding by the admins.

Come on you guys... Blunt and I can't be the only one's to seed the server. He's not even a BC2 admin.

I do appreciate where you're coming from Ninja, but I personally have some stuff going on at the moment that is making it difficult at times to play games.

I will try and do 2 nights a week but if its to be a requirement Im afraid I cant commit to it, this other stuff is just too serious.

Thanks for your honesty Lion. I really appreciate it. Most of the admins manage to play on a Friday (including your good self) which is excellent.

Even if we play a couple of hours only just to get the server going that is enough. I know I'm asking a lot of you guys and I apologise. We need to get this thing off the ground and once it's rolling again it will be that much easier as the server will seed itself.

Thanks for your input and efforts thus far. It is appreciated sincerely.
