Who are you?Where are you from? How old are you? What kind of work do you do? What's your situation at home like?

Hey! My name is Budd, Iââ,¬â,,¢m from Birmingham, England.  29yrs old, I work for a college which teaches English to overseas students.  Currently living the bachelors life (single, playing too many video games and having too much junk food!) I guess life is good =D

What kind of internet connection do you have?  

10gb.  I rarely -if ever- disconnect during a raid.  I also use Leatrix which I think helps a lot.

What are the core specs of your computer?  

I use an old Geforce 8800GT (used to be top quality), running Windows 7 with 500gb HD, 4gb Ram, Pentuim Dual Core e6600 ( I think)

How long have you been playing computer ames and what kind?

I have been playing them for a very long time.  From Yie Ar Kung Fu on the C64 to Mass Effect 2 on XBOX 360.  I guess the games I enjoy most are FPS and RPGs.  My Favourite game is Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox.  Followed by FF7 and FF8.

What kind of raiding experience do you have?

I started playing WoW in Apr 2009.  I have a Rogue/Ele Shammy on another server which I have now abandoned.  Progress on Rogue at times of release.  Naxx10 Cleared. Naxx25: Spider, Plague, upto Thaddius.  Ulduar10: as far as Freya. Ulduar25: 1st 4.  ToC10 cleared. ToC25 cleared.  ICC10(N) 11/12. ICC25: 7/12.  Not playing the Rogue anymore.  

What other guilds have you been in and why did you decide or were forced to move on?

I havenââ,¬â,,¢t had a guild on this sever.  My previous guild was on Terokkar.  I met a level30 Priest when I first started playing, she decided to make a guild, I joined and have been there all that time.  But like I said, all my wow buddies have slowly moved on and it just doesnââ,¬â,,¢t feel the same anymore.  I donââ,¬â,,¢t play there anymore.

Do you actively play any alts that we could find you in in case we need to contact you?

I have no alts at the moment.

What are your plans for the game? In what way would you like others to know you? Tell us about your personality, and why you enjoy the game.

I think I have a good attitude.  I am polite, laid back, sociable and donââ,¬â,,¢t cause trouble.  Once Iââ,¬â,,¢ve geared up, I am certain I can bring a top quality raider to your guild.  Saying I bring flasks, do homework, etc is a given.  I am also happy to join saved raids where we wipe all night.  Killing bosses is why I play, I donââ,¬â,,¢t really get too caught up in loot drama or achievements.

Name one thing you don't like about WoW in its current state.

When I first started, we didnââ,¬â,,¢t have any need to grind for badges and gear.  Whilst I realise it has enabled the casual player to attain loot quickly.  The daily grind is far too repetitive.

Why did you decide to play this class?

I played a Rogue for a long time and wanted a caster class.  After some reading, Shadow Priests seemed to be the most challenging caster class to play.  I didnââ,¬â,,¢t want a class with an easy rotation and limited theorycraft.  Spriest slowly became the obvious choice.

What do you think your class' role is in raid content?

Shadow Priests bring great benefit to a raid.  Misery; nice Hit buff.  DoTs; in ICC where there tends to be a lot of running around, DoT classes are useful to continue doing damage whilst running out of fire.  Mind Flay; great for slowing adds (Blood Beasts, Valkyrs on LK) Fantastic AoE for Trash + Adds on LK, Mind Sear = EPIC! Fear Warding on Blood Queen.  Dispersion on Festergutââ,¬â,,¢s Blight.

Comment on your build. Why did you choose it? What do you think of other builds of your class? Why didn't you choose one of those? (important question)

My Current build is the Cookie Cutter build.  Most Shadow Priests have similar builds with only a few points to play about with.  The Talents I chose to take:

Inner Focus.  Since I am gearing up and have a low mana pool, mana return talents are quite important on a boss fight.  The less need I have for popping Dispersion, the better.

Focused Mind.  Again pretty much the same reasons as above, low mana pool, with my current gear itââ,¬â,,¢s more valuable to be mana efficient.

Once my gear gets better, I might opt for better survivability talents for end game raiding.  Veiled Shadows and Improved Vampiric Embrace.

What do you look for in a guild?

Nice friendly people, first and foremost.  Casual atmosphere.  In terms of raids, I prefer to raid with people who donââ,¬â,,¢t raid too heavily (ie 5 hrs a day mon tue wed thu) I canââ,¬â,,¢t handle more than 4 hrs a few nights a week.  The attitude of the raiders I prefer are people who can have a laugh and a joke but arenââ,¬â,,¢t casual when it comes to doing what has to be done once a boss is engaged and youââ,¬â,,¢ve entered combat.

''Dead Men Raiding'' - What comes to mind when you see that guild name?

I havenââ,¬â,,¢t been on this server long so guild names donââ,¬â,,¢t mean to much to me at the moment.  Sowwy.  

There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us?

I checked out all the guild websites on Aszune, and DMR seemed to have the best attitude and philosophy.  It doesnââ,¬â,,¢t seem like a regular guild.  The person behind the pixels seems to be more important here.

I have read both, and I think I covered previously.  But yes, I was very impressed

A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do?

Difficult question.  I guess itââ,¬â,,¢s open to discussion as to what might be deemed as offensive.  If somebody used foul language (f***ing c**t) about a fellow guildie, the first time I would dismiss it and assume he is just really upset.  If they persist, I would probably ask that they not use such language.  Or I might inform a Officer/GM that I donââ,¬â,,¢t like the language he is using.  On the other hand if somebody is being racist/prejudiced or being threatening, I would immediately call them up on it.  Just as I would IRL.

Additional Info

I realise my gear isnââ,¬â,,¢t really ICC ready at the moment, and I probably have a few missing enchants.  It's part and parcel of gearing up I guess. I havenââ,¬â,,¢t been 80 for that long.  And gearing up isnââ,¬â,,¢t that hard these days.  A few crafted 264s, Triumph gear, some Frost Emblem pieces, A VoA drop, and a few ICC10 pieces can make you ICC25 ready.  So please take that into consideration.  I would also like to add that I am not applying for a spot in a team.  I prefer my position to be back-up/social raider.
