XRG at FE5

I didn't fancy my chances with this combo, but setting a PB in qualy boosted my expectations. I made a good start and managed to settle in 4th but was given a hard time by HerrnRettichsDad (henceforth known as Dad) until lap 8, by which time he had roasted his front tyres and disappeared in the rear-view mirror, only to be replaced by Seany.

Sean squeezed past me on lap 14 and slowly increased his lead on me. From all accounts Deetz was doing a valiant job in fending off Jamin for the top spot. Dad was popping in and out the pits as a means of keeping everybody on their toes and warding off boredom.

During the last 5 minutes the race suddenly changed. On lap 41, Sean overturned after hitting the wall and then Deetz on the next lap did exactly the same. As the timer came to 60mins I nearly replicated their manoeuvre. Poor Jack(Orzel13) timed out after a good showing throughout the race.

So a podium for me, behind the victor Jamin and runner-up Deeslider.
Lets hope the recent bad luck is over and everyone gets to finish the next one.

Yay! congrats to me

I went for damage limitation, I had a few moments but generally played it safe (in a car with a wr that's one second quicker a lap :coolio: )
