Update

Hi guys,

Just to let you all know that unfortunately TL and myself will not be able to make this LAN. That leaves us very thin on the ground for Council members (only OB confirmed) but that in turn means that you're all empowered to run with the LAN and make it the best one yet

To help define areas of responsibility, I have the following:

Administration:
Oldie will be on hand to help run the servers.
Ninja is MC'ing and handling the LAN accounts
Tobious is in charge of setting up the network and will pick up on Thursday PM from TL
Pen will deal with pre-lan hotel liaison and requests for room setup / seating plan.

I will send the nameplaces and seating plan to you if I may Dan?

Games and Competitions:
Ninja
Toby
Lumi
Oldie

So you guys are in charge and both TL and I have no qualms that you're all up to it.

From my PR-side, please try and keep the hotel sweet but keeping an eye out for people taking  the **** bringing in their own drinks and making it obvious they're doing it. We don't want to ban it, but we don't want to encourage it and it MUSTN'T be done outside of the LAN room. At the end of the LAN TL and I normally clear the room totally and black bag any offending bottles and cans. We can't rub their nose in it!

I'll liaise with the hotel on the steak night and other matters.

If you have any seating plan requests please let me know and I'll accommodate them as best I can. This is only for you guys and not something we offer to other attendees so keep it to yourselves.


Between the four of you you'll be fine .  We have other sensible people there so draw on them as necessary. Obvious candidates are Lionheart, Blunt, Tutonic and Smilodon/Gandy (tbc).

In all seriousness, I think we've got this covered. There's enough of us and the more sensible folks with LAN knowledge to make it all happen. On Thursday, I can liase with the hotel management to discuss Steak Night so we all don't cram in there at once. This is looking like a smaller LAN compared to normal in any case.
 
I guess the GL meeting won't be happening?

Comps - Have we agreed on what and when yet??
 
Cash - I'll assume that I give the dosh to Oldie at the end of the w/e?
 
Seating - Stick me with Toby and Tut. Happy to be on the table with Oldie as well. (he's usually too hung over on Saturday to get up early so.. ) Obiously GhostMjr and his hoard will take over an entire table to themselves..
 
I'll do my best to keep people honest. It's usually Ghosty and his crew that bend the rules.

Comps are my biggest concern TBH. They do need to be sorted and quite soon.

Cash, it's your call. If you couple please send me the spreadsheet that would be great. For me, I usually keep the cash and do a bank-to-bank transfer for the amount directly to the DMW Account. We can discuss how you want to divest yourself of it.

Seating wise, Toby wanted me to do something and I'm sure he'll pm me with it. I know it included you so nps.

I'm sorry I forgot to log into this part of the forum.

Its a shame You and TL won't make it, we'll make sure you guys won't be missed, (as organisers ofc you will be missed as attendees )
I'm not sure I have it in me to tell some people off (or atleast discourage them to buy their drinks), those with the pirate flag where pretty clear on their point of view, namely its bullocks you have to buy your drinks from the hotel... I guess we'll just give the good example, and stress it once more at the beginning of the LAN.
