George Clooneys directorial debut. A great film about a real life TV producer Chuck Barris,  wh was the creator of US shows The Dating Game (aka Blind Date in the UK) and The Gong Show (a precursor to Pop Idol, which saw talentless people gonged off stage when their performance became unbearable).

Amazingly Barris claims in his autobiography to have killed 33 people for the CIA after being recruited by them as a contract killer!

Whether this is true or not Clooney does a pretty good job of directing a good film adaptation of the book. Starring Julia Roberts, Rutger Hauer and Clooney himself it's Sam Rockwell (Galaxy Quest,  The Green Mile) that impressed me as Barris. Very good and very funny.  :)
