Clan Tag and '|'

If anyone is currently playing, can you just quickly post a summary of how clan tags work in game (to avoid a horrible BC2 thing again).

We intend to keep clan tags as they are at the moment as 'dMw|yourname'

It might be worth confirming if a clan tag can be added as a separate user config option in the game and then posting a bloody great big reminder post in the forums so that we do not get characters named dMw|dMw|Tealeaf etc.

The other issue last night was use of the character '|'.  I could not name the server 'dMw|Teamplay Public' inline with the current COD4 name as I was not allowed to use '|'.   Does this have any impact on our intended clan tag or does 'dMw|'  still work?

Perhaps someone with current game access could check please and report back asap so that this can be posted.  Tbh, if you know, go post it up in the BO section to help people who will this morning be installing and setting up their toons.

Observations:
 
>You can only use the tag one you have reach Lvl 6 oddly, although...
>It had already used it in away, when joining a server your name is automatically done from steam, so it looked like this: dMwSnokio
>There is 3 options in the menu on your name: Full, abbreviated or icon only
 
Checking now for the 'unlock' as it's now released for me
 
Update: looks like it takes your steam name, so you can't have any spaces or |-=[

So you get no choice on your name at all but there is a clan tag?  So my steam name being dmwtealeaf will result in a tagged player name of dMw|dmwtealeaf???  Or am I misunderstanding something?

I do hope not.

We need to get  this resolved as soon as possible as it has far-reaching ramifications.

IMPORTANT:

We need it make it clear from the off that NO ONE apart from Blunt and his nominated team of BO admins can start off wearing the tag willy nilly.

ALL badges have to be awarded by the Game Leader. Now it's fairly obvious that those with a CoD4 background may get badged up quickly while others will have to wait.

It is taken from your steam name, however, it maybe a bug as some show up to begin with, then without changing anything settings wise it looses them
 
Once you have reached lvl 6/7 (you rank up very quickly) you can enter a clan name under 'playercard'.
 
In playercard, if you type 'dMw' will appear like this: [dMw]
You can not add any -=[|/:.,>< etc to the tag (either through steam or playercard)
 
To summarise:
 
>Everymember will join the game as: dMwname because of their steam name
>Once you reach lvl 6 or 7, you can add a clan tag in the game's 'playercard'
>If you do add a clan name, it will appear as: [dMw]dMwname

Posted confirmation in public threads - the tag will be dMw

A full 'dMw' name should therefore be [dMw]yourname

-the blue element is the name used by the member in-game
-the red brackets are added automatically by the game
-the dMw is the clan tag entered by the player in the playercard once awarded the badge by Blunt
