Make sure that you update your anti-virus software *and* run a  *full* system scan on *all* files.  Please also check to make sure you have no trojans being stabled on your machine.  There is free software to check for both on the web - do a google for some urls please peeps.

If someone turns up with a virus or trojan on their machine an manages to infect other PCs at the LAN it will *really* pee on the party, so don't be the one to do it!

McAfee & Sophos issued updates overnight.  Please download and re-check your systems just before you pack your computer away into your car.

Yeah i just did a scan found a virus delt with it was a trogen horse one  :angry:

Can someone recommend a Good (Free) trojan detecting program.
I use AVG for Virus.

I am afraid there is no such thing as a 'good' free anti-trojan.

Basically you have a choice of three main players, none of which are free.

First is Trojan Hunter. You can download a free trail that would at least sort you out for the LAN.

Then you could try BOClean. However this doesn't have a free trial (but you do get a cast iron promise of a 30 day money back). Also it is a memory resident scanner and does not have an on demand scanner, so it would have to run throughout the LAN.

Finally you could go for TDS-3. The grandaddy of them all. This is my AT of choice and although it's a complex program it's the best AT application bar none. You can download a free trial and although the memory resident scanner is disabled you can do a complete HDD scan before the LAN.

Make sure you do a definition update before the scan (like an Anti-virus program) before you scan with any of these apps.

There are several other programs out there and lots of little applications that just go after one specific trojan, but they don't compare with the big three.

My PC hasn't been on t'internet for about 2.5 months, so I can't get hold of updates, although I haven't installed anything new either, would be nice if someone could bring me an AVG update on CD......oh Smitey Popssss....pulleaaaasee
