Congrats to Lameduck :yahoo: on a fine win

and congrats to Bobthebike for pole :thumb:

Having crashed out on the first lap, I went off for a sulk. I started to watch the race when Sean pitted at about half way, Lameduck pitted a few laps later and Slider46 a few after that but a drive through ended his challenge leaving TEM/Y.Laprevotte in the lead.

TEM/Y.Laprevotte seemed to be blessed with one car after another to use for draughting, including lapping Sean and Lameduck until he pitted with about 10 mins to go rejoining 3 seconds behind Lameduck, this dropped to 2 secs after some laps. Lameduck responded and kept this gap above 2 secs with a faultless drive to finish in first place.

Brilliant race to watch unfold and will be remembered for a long time.

I'm officially removing the legacy ban on the oval as the haterz don't race with us anymore.

Well I made the winners spot for the first time :yahoo:
This was a 'team' performance as we managed to see all the opposition off. Thanks to Sean we both managed to get a good place on the grid behind a low-flying Bob the Bike who had a sub world-record pole time.
I had a good start and was joined in a drafting exercise with Sean and Steve and we managed to get a few seconds lead before 46 dropped of the pace. Sean and I managed to keep it together, except when Sean lost throttle intermittently and I had to feather to allow him to get back on the pace (Cue Rolf Harris & "Two little Boys"). Sean had worries over fuel calculations and pitted just after 30 mins, I pitted a lap later having reduced fuel requirement by 5%. Came out in 7th behind the Ant.
Somehow, I had gained nearly 2 secs on Sean during the pit stops and he told me to go for it. Slider46 was swapping the lead with Yann and they appeared to be in full drafting mode. Yann pitted after lap 75, during which I un-lapped myself and by the time he was up full speed I had a 2 second lead. Sean was right behind him and my fear was that if the two of them got together, irrespective of what time I put up, I would be caught. However, I managed to match his lap and split times and crossed the line 2.68 secs ahead with Seany just over 3 secs behind.:D

Great racing all the way down the field. We all seem to find drafting exciting & fun and I endorse Jamins sentiments re future use of the Oval :)

Well done Bob on breaking your winners duck, :yahoo:

I remember thinking i have to get off the line well or Lame and Sean will dissapear. Well after a pretty good start i was right there with them for the first few laps trying not to get in the way really by abit of feathering. My plan was to sit with them in third until something happened or i'd sussed it out. Unfortunatey my feather turned into a sail plane and i lost the tow.
Luckily there was a gap behind me by then but i was just wandering round on my own stuffing the friut pastilles in at the rate of one a lap. This couldnt go on so i eased up abit and waited for Laprevotte who then obliged by playing the towing game, cheers Yann. I think to be honest, he would of been faster without me, lol

Anyway, Sean seemed to be using more fuel than i was pastilles and got me into calculating that i could take a good 10% off the refuel. This i stupidly tried to adjust on the inroad for the pit and then missed the limit line,. Its not too bad i though as its only a drivethrough penalty. I refueled and nailed it out of my box only to realise i still hadnt put the limiter on and 75mph cost me a 10second  stop and go.... Game over, lol.
From there i just turned right some more and felt ill due to too many friuty sweets.

Well done to all that made it round, and unlucky to those that didnt. Twas fun.

Great race! Qualified 3rd, just behind my drafting buddy, with Bob The Bike on Pole (good lap!).  Myself and Lame got away well and within couple of laps we where on our own settign fastest lap times.  I had some  issues with my throttle but Bob kindly (or cleverly!) waited for me so we could continue our charge away from the pack.  We kept that up for a half our and only grazed each other once...not too bad that!

I had a bit of a slow pit stop which cost me quite a bit of distance from bob who was quicker on a non drafting lap than me.  He gradually pulled away from me over the rest of the race.  I had one other opportunity to catch up which was GreyBull, who was drafting his way through the field.  This was going well until we came up on AtomAnt who I closed the door on a might too early and as we where slip streaming. Sorry again! This allowed GreyBull to get away so I settled back for a third place on the podium :D

Well done to LameDuck and GreyBull. :3cheers: Nice weeks racing.

F08 was made for the Oval! :racing:

Cracking race thoroughly enjoyable.  Managed pole after smarming a tripple draft, Then bogged it up at the start. Had a few good drafting sesions with most people but each time managed ton lose the draft trying to set up a longer run up.

Hope this will now be a regular type of race. Totaly different.

Well done Bob, I think you had that sewn up by Monday!!
