I'm looking to buy an mp3 player with a screen that displays artist and song, choose between albums and playlists.

Dont mind if its used or new my budget is around £30-50 mark

can anyone recommend anything?

I only use my phone these days. Though I've tried many many players in my time. The best I've used were iRiver (I've still got a 20GB player kicking around that works perfectly and is 7 years old), the only other one I've had that's stood the test of time with a Creative Zen Stone Plus which is probably more what you're looking for but they seem to have gotten expensive, it was only £30 when I got mine 3-4 years ago.

The "Sansa Clip+" is a tiny clip on player that comes in sizes up to 8GB, but it also has a MicroSD slot to expand it even further and an FM radio, most people rave about the sound quality and it has an OLED screen. Also plays lots of music file types.

Clip+ is the one with MicroSD, Clip without.

I have a 4gb one in reserve for when the old iPod Nano goes pop.

Check reviews on Amazon.

It conforms to European regulations on the restricted sound levels, but this can be bypassed by reflashing the firmware and when prompted select "Rest of world" instead of "Europe".

The shop link I posted was after a quick Google, I've no experience of the shop myself.

I've actually got an unused Samsung YP-P2JCB 8 GB MP3 player that I purchased a few years ago. Fantastic player, barely used (use the phone now!) and can be yours for a very measly sum of £40 delivered. PM if interested.

Cake: Four large eggs. One cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. Three/four cups butter or margarine. One and two third cups granulated sugar. Two cups all purpose flour. Fish shaped ethyl benzene. Twelve medium geosynthetic membranes. Three tablespoons rhubarb, on fire.

Sansa Clip or Sansa Fuze. These are the previous generation models to the Clip+ and the Fuze+. Can be had on Ebay for good prices. I'd go for the Fuze, bigger screen and a microSD slot. The "+" models have a different control interface which I've heard not so good things about. My personal on-the-road kit is a Rockbox'd V2 Fuze through a modded CMoy headphone amp into Grado SR325i 'phones/Futuresonic Atrio M5 IEM's. Aural bliss!
