As stated I am initially applying for a social position within your ranks.
I spoke to Whytee for a bit today and he recommended me to post an app here for social.

My Name's Alan, From Dumfries Scotland.  29 Years old and definately none the wiser for my age.  I've been working for a Plastics Manufacrturing Company called Dupont Teijin Films for around 10 years since I came in as a youth trainee and worked up the ranks and now a stand-in supervisor.   I spend a good chunk of my spare time either playing football or coaching it.  I recently have taken up golf and spending far too much time on the course.

I've been playing WoW since about halfway through Burning Crusade.  I started off rolling a warrior and found at end game only thing I was useful for was to pick up the zombies on Gluth.  After getting snacked on far too many times - I found melee Dps just wasnt my thing - so I re-rolled a priest and fell in love with Shadow.  I was had been a member of the same guild since joining all those years ago and loved every minute.  I looked after the Logs on Raid Nights, the Guild Bank and helped with enchants/gems/glyphs/alchemy, just whatever was needed at the time.  We were a small guild but a close knit bunch and had many a good raid.  Most notably when Ulduar first hit, we all decided to get very Drunk and have a laugh their... quite surprisingly downing all inc Kologarn.  At the time and the gear we had (not too mention not being able to see straight ... was quite impressive).
But recently since Cata has arrived, and through various different (social) reasons... Raiding proved difficult to progress through.  We all decided that it was time to call it a day after a the guild going for 4 years+.  I haven't played much in the last 2months, but have popped in from time to time due to its appeal still.

At the moment I have a self built PC

HAF 932 Case,
Intel I7 930 @3.2Ghz - H70 Corsair Water Cooled
12Gb XMS3 Ram
60Gb SSD
(2x) 1Tb WD Drives
ATi Radeon HD 6990
Play using Razr Naga + Logitech G13
Dell 24" Flatscreen

I've been playing games for as long as I can Remember - From the very first Atari playing Combat (with the tanks), Amstrad CPC 464 with Dizzy, Super Nintendo, Master System, PS2, Xbox, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC's (Can Remember begging my Dad to buy 8Mb of Ram £80 so I could play Doom).

I only really started properly raiding in WotLK so unfortunately missed out on the oldschool Naxx, and TK, SWP etc, but everything since I have went through.  Cata...Not so much due to Raiding members being online at sporadic times and people not gearing as they should.

I have a number of Alt that I play, but mainly only due to the professions I have on them.
But what I am looking for in you guys is too inspire me and bring back the love I had for this game before Cata came out.  At present I have cancelled my subscription, but all going well I would continue playing again.

God, telling you something about myself????  I'm very easy going, I dont take offence to much if anything.  I'm responsible (as shown with what was entrusted to me in previous guild).  I love stats - I was forever looking at theory crafting, logs etc... always wanting to improve, find out where I was going wrong and make sure it doesnt happen again...striving to be a perfectionist...can't remember how many time I have said "don''t stand in the fire, Don't stand in the fire" hence why Ghostcrawler gave us priests Leap of Faith :D

One thing I dont like about WoW in its current state?
The fact that they have open Beta sessions to "iron out and issues", but lo-and-behold every other day they'll nerf this...oops too much, now its OP....GRRRR fricken mages never get nerf batted:sideways:

My Main is Gaiden

I feel Priests bring a variety of advantage to a raid - popping Hymn of Hopes or Divine Hymns when called for can make the difference between clearing content or wiping.  The buffs they bring

Shadow
--------
Replenishment
Spell Haste Buff

Holy/Disc
-----------
Reduced Physical Damage Buff (Inspiration)

All 3
-----
Shadow Protection Buff
Stamina Buff

In a guild - I look for People to Get along.  Be able to enjoy things whilst getting things done at the same time.  Guildies shouldnt be afraid to be give (or take) constructive criticism from others.
I regards to your rules/posts/guidelines, it makes sense.... at the end of the day - WoW is a game, a game like any other which we can all walk away from if we choose to do so - and shouldn't take over Real Life.  But also if you make a commitment to join a guild, then you should respect what they do and the hard work the RL and officers put in throughout the week to make sure  things run smoothly.

A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do?
Kick first ask questions later... no in honesty - there is countless times this happens in game and even in real life.  And as tempting it is to kick them in Real Life... there's always consequences.  Thats why there is a guild heirarchy in place, some things can be said and taken the wrong was - especially when typing.  These things happen, but if there is a major grievance then speak to the person who said it - ask them why they said that, and if you can't sort something out, ask an officer to help straighten things out because there is nothing worse that an atmosphere in guild.

Cake or Pie?  Can I have a bit of both? :dribble:

Much appreciated guys - I know theres a wall of text - I'm currently on the server with a priest called Kalleah

Welcome to DMR Alan, sounds like you'll be right at home here.

Whisper an officer for an invite when you are online next. :dmw:

Can I just comment on what a beast of a system you have there :P

Blunt

Welcome to dMw :)
With a rig like that you should be playing fps instead of prancing around waving a wand :P

Cheers for the welcome guys - appreciate it.

Oh trust me after upgrading from a core 2 duo running a gtx 260 to what I'm running now - I've thrown everything there is at it.
I do love my FPS as well, just my time had been devoted to WoW for too long for me to ever get any good at anything else.

You don't have to be good to play our FPS games.  Just look at Blunt, he manages to enjoy himself on our servers and he's rubbish (especially with a knife).:narnar:

I predict multiple Whitey-knifing at the next LAN.

Sounds good to me - so Black ops I presume?

TeaLeaf

Black Ops, Bad Company 2, in the old days Counterstrike, Blunt's like a Martini.  Anywhere, anytime.
