Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Installation Problem

I bought this game for £4. I thought it was a bargain. Until I went to install it. It asks for the serial number, then just sits on the wait while installing but just sits there doing nothing. I left it for 30 minutes. The progress bar still on zero.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

To be honest, this is the final time. Any more problems and I'm going back to consoles. I haven't installed one game yet which didn't have issues.

After you enter the serial code what does it do? does it accept it? does it not? etc etc need more details
