It's a tough life mate when you have to work day in and day out with the likes of Sienna, Sasha, Lauren.... oh I can't remember all their names for god sake.

Aha, :tumbleweed: from Tutonic, I hope he's alone, crying and seething with jealousy. Being a shift manager for McDonald's don't cut it my friend.

DA: Mr Black and White is nothing much to do with me, I just pushed the shutter on the camera. The real genius in creating that look comes from the MUA who did it, http://www.facebook.com/Gem.Richmond.MUA

I
'm shocked but hardly surprised that this thread has descended into a tacky 'who's the most XXXable girl' :)
The odd thing is that while all five models are clearly very attractive they've all been made up by professional make up artists, and the images have been squeezed through Photoshop. The reality is that when we start they have zero make up on at all. Oddly the girl with the least amount of make up and almost no Photoshop work is number two, who didn't score that well ( God I can't believe I'm actually adding to this debate  ). The truth is people can look very different seen in the flesh than they do when looked at in a photograph. As most people know I look stunning in person but oddly when photographed I seem to put on two stone and look like a crumpled slob, hard to believe I know.

A bit long but if you want the full effect check out the vid from the show(spot the deliberate mistake and win a Mars Bar, Curly Wurly of chocolate confectionery of your choice at the next LAN)

Isn't there some law of forums that says 'after a certain number of posts someone always mentions Hitler'? And I am not a Nazi dictator, I'm just fortunate in my career development.

On the subject of odd laws of nature 'n' stuff isn't there also some 'law of karma' which claims that for every occasion where something nice happens to a person, somewhere else in the world something nasty happens to someone else? So every time I do a fashion or beauty shoot you fall down a flight of stairs. It's somehow comforting to know the balance is maintained.

I'm not a fan of photoshopped girls, and too much make up.
Funny that nr 2, was my nr 1.

I agree I don't like using Photoshop if I can help it. I mostly work in Adobe Lightroom and I generally edit images to make them look as I saw them when I took the photograph. The only other thing I do is to sharpen and colour correct for whatever medium they're being output to (a web page, glossy print etc.)
However commercial photography is a whole other beast. I'm working for a client and I have to produce what they want or I don't get used again. Photoshop can be invaluable in making an image work for a client. Fashion and modelling require models to look flawless. Real people don't look like this so they have to be created on a computer. I don't have a problem with this as I'm producing a product not being judged as a pure photographer. I don't do high fashion stuff, super models, Vogue etc so don't come into contact with the whole size zero, skinny girl, anorexic look. I'm not sure I'd ever be willing to work in that field and certainly not edit an image to make a girl look unhealthily thin. But smoothing out skin and brightening eyes etc isn't a problem.
