On the other hand, when we downed Choggy for the first time I blew my wad on the shoulders when at least one other could have out-bidded me and he said "it's too much - I'll get them next time". Not sure if it did or not

We had a weapon drop yesterday and Slush paid 100dkp for it. Next boss also dropped the same weapon and went away for 2 dkp.

My theory on this is that dkp builds up fast enough and you lose enough to daily decay & the cap as it is, so when something I really want drops I am prepared to spend the whole amount of DKP that I have. I think my Chog shoulders were 125dkp iirc and I've got no regrets. Spend the dkp, it does no good for you when it is getting capped or decayed!

Yes I believe we rolled on them as we both had 125 DKP.... I never did end up getting them.

Big hugs Slush........the gods of randomness were playing games last night it seems. Still a nice weapon tho. When i bid 90 and you bid 100 then it was beyond where i could go ( i think my max was 96 i could go to ).......for the same "rare" item to drop very next boss was a bit of a kick in the nuts for you.

TBH - in my last guild we used EPGP for a long time and it worked really well. The bidding system does lead to silly prices being paid depending on who is present
