Rogue Legendary. Srsly?

So as posted on MMO-Champion the next Legendary will be a Rogue dagger. What the hell? Why would they possibly think that making a Legendary for a single class is a good idea? I don't care that it is specifically a Rogue only item, as I have had my shot at a Legendary, just that it is specific to one class. It's not like they have never had a Legendary before (Bow, Warglaives) it just makes me question there design philosophy. This coupled with the fact that they are nerfing T12 into the ground even before it is over, just makes me lose even more faith in Blizzard. I think they have finally lost it.

I am just hoping that the whole Rogue Legendary turns out to be a huge hoax.

If it's real, it is kinda lame to get a legendary for 1 class only. All the previous were available for multiple classes...though not always perfect for certain classes *cough* hunter with thunderfury *cough*.

So you had:
Sulfaras for Warriors, Paladins, Enhance Shamans, and...ofcourse BOOMKINS!!!
Thunderfury for Warriors and Paladins, but also the occasional ROGUE and hunter...
Atiesh: special version for every caster class, mage, lock, priest, druid
Warglaives: warriors and rogues (DK's can get them aswell right? but used to be warrior/rogue only)
Bow: anyone that can use a bow, so inclusing ROGUES
Mace from Ulduar: so yeah it's a caster mace, but theoretical anyone with the ability to wield a 1h mace can get it
Shadowmourne: DK, warrior, pally only

So not a single legendary (not counting the not so legendary legendaries from TK) that was for 1 class only.
And we all remember all to well what happened in TBC when rogues got 2 glaives...they won pretty much every arena season untill wotlk.

That one was a total pain.  It was their first experiemnt with the system that we see nowadays for Legendary weapons.  There were so few obtained in that content patch it was unbelievable.  Most got picked up or completed in the following patches/expansions.  Iirc correctly, there was not a single Atiesh on Aszune until the following content patch (I remember helping Righteous complete theirs post-patch).

Other than the tanking weapon that was so good it survived into later tiers and beyond it's planned longevity.  Whether or not you call it a 'pure' tanking weapon is up to you, but Thunderfury was the progress-raiding tank's weapon of choice for longer than any other legendary weapon for any other class.

Aye was about to say lol. Thunderfury's proc (and its procrate) made it so incredibly rocking as a tanking wep!

Aye, it lasted through 4 tiers of raiding (Tier 1 - Molten Core, Tier 2 - Blackwing Lair, Tier 2.5 - AQ40 and Tier 3 - Naxxramus).  It even lasted into the early parts of TBC.   There's never been such a legendary again, tanks with Thunderfury were in demand by all raid guilds and it lasted longer than any other legendary weapon has to date.

Atiesh had a healer version if I recall...
Val'anyr, Hammer of the Kings from Ulduar was pretty damn legendary ;-)

So far I guess there's been:

3x DPS 2H: Sulfuras, Ashbringer, Shadowmourne
2x DPS 1H: Azzinoth blades, 4.3 daggers -> You could add TF here for rogues I guess, but back then it was a huge aggro magnet for DPS
1x Ranged: Thori'dal
1x Tank 1H: Thunderfury
2x Caster 2H: Atiesh, Dragonwrath
1x Healer Caster 1H: Val'anyr
1x Mount: Black Qi'raji Battle Tank ;-)

Did I miss anything?

I just read the blog confirming this decision by Blizzard.  This has to be the worst ever legendary decision - a single class legendary for 10 man raids?  Where the hell does that fit in?
