TLDR version
1-2 tanks
3 healers
5-6 dps

1 Phase burn encounter where you defeat multiple adds to peel 3 armor plates from Deathwing's back (in prep for the Madness fight)

Strategy:
-kill all bar 1 Corruption Tentacle (no aggro table)
-healers focus Searing Plasma until gone
-stay in middle when ship not rolling
-once only one add left roll the ship and everyone stack in an available hole so surplus adds fall off.  Raidwall here.
-after roll kill last tentacle and return to centre
-MT on Amalgamation, tank close to armor plate
-OT on bloods
-ranged & healers >10yds away
-burn Amalgamation until low HP (do NOT kill yet), allow add to become Superheated (kill 9 corrupted bloods near the Amalgamation)
-Break Fiery Grip *just* (don't kill new Corruption Tentacle)
-ONLY kill Amalgamation when it starts pulsing fire damage - RUNAWAY >10yds!
-BURN PHASE on Burning Tendon exposed (must be killed before end of Seal Breech cast - 25 seconds approx)
-rinse & repeat twice more to win

USE ASSIST or MACROS!

Corruption Tentacles & Corrupted Bloods
-Searing Plasma (needs a fixed amount of focused healing to be done to the target to remove the DOT/debuff - similar to Burning Adrenalin from Lord Jaraxxus in TOC)
-Fiery Grip (grabs & stuns a player for <=30 secs doing high fire damage DOT which is removed by doing a fixed amount of focused damage to the tentacle)
-removing Fiery Grip leaves a hole which you can wander into, causes moderate fire damage, slows and you cannot be thrown off - move away to be free again)

Corrupted Bloods
-Bloods do moderate melee & 20k AOE on death
-respawns when remaining ooze reaches the Fiery Grip Hole

Hideous Amalgamation
-dead Corrupted Tentacle spawns Hideous Amalgamation add
-absorbs a buff stacking buff from ooze +10% damage & +20% attack speed, at 10 stacks it becomes Superheated
-Superheated pulses 15-20k fire damage AOE every 3 seconds
-if killed whilst Superheated it triggers Nuclear Blast which does 350-400k AOE (10yd range) and rips up an armor plate
-Nuclear Blast allows access to a Burning Tendon which is under the lifted armor plate which then to cast Seal Armor Breach

#3
Summary from tonight

-always left the front right tentacle
-collapsed to front left
-key to getting the Tendons down was killing the sole alive tentacle once Amalgamation had 9 stacks (during his nuclear animation), this guaranteed 30 seconds of DPS time on tendon without a Grip (new tentacles cannot Grip for 30 seconds)
-do roll after tendon down to get rid of surplus Alamagations, rinse & repeat
-personal CD on first tendon, heroism on 2nd, luck & a following wind on third
-tendon spawns on same side as you kill Amalgamation
-we always killed Amalgamation slightly left of centre to spawn left tendon, ranged then slid to right side to 'balance' boss and prevent a roll midway through the dps on the tendon
-HOP gets rid of Grip
-HOS on slow Grip removal target
-Grips called on TS with all DPS targetting for 1 hit to remove 20% HP and stop Grip

nice smooth kill in the end, nice job all :)

Just Madness left for Tuesday and if we get that then we have a first week full clearance of Dragon Soul and Heroics from the reset!

Personally my biggest issue was targetting the Tendons fast enough and then getting there. I usually charge something to get at it since it gives a nice rage boost. Was trying that here but in all the hecticness I couldn't get it targeted, or even if I did I couldn't charge it. Not sure which it was since I was sorta panicking. Sorted it in the end by just forgoing charge and watching the Nuclear Blast cast timer. As soon as it goes off I just run in towards the plate and get there before the Tendons spawn. Plenty of time to go on and hit it. With that sorted we got into <10% on it frequently. If we get all DPS in there in time then we really shouldn't have to spread the kill over two rotations tbh.

Macro with '/target Burning Tendons' worked fine for me.

Probably also worth nothing that we 3-healed it, so this put added pressure on DPS.  2 healing puts the pressure on the healing side of things as the tendons then become relatively easy.

your right about that one, the number of times the thing closed on us with 6% health left.. ahhhh!!

It may be the mob can't be charged cause it's in an unaccessible spot. Will investigate :-)

I think in the end the 3 healers strat was "comfortable" and tbh...so what if it takes 2 goes per armour piece, it was a smooth runnign machine at that point.

I think more doable with 2 but would be pushing it currently - but as we learn the fights and less non-required damage is taken then we can scale it back to 2 and try.

A little question for the tanks:

Do you guys have some general tips for me as tank in this fight, that can help me when i have to tank this fight next time.

TeaLeaf

Tank it to the plate end at all times.   Bloods get dropped just short of where you are.  When enough bloods are killed, run the Amalgamation into the bloods, pick up debuff stacks and then cruise back to the plate.   Run away when Nuclear blast happens.  Rinse & repeat.

Tank it to one side of the plate as well, as the side (left or right) will determine which side of the plate will go up. Ideally it shouldn't matter as we kill the Burning Tendons that come up in 1 go, but should the plate go back down it's important to have the next Amalgamation explode on the same side as last time, so you get the same Burning Tendons mob spawn - which will have its reduced HP from last time.

lol RGW starts to write here.....:D

the 2 times we tried it was all a bit confusing, if we use RGT tactic:

Quote from: TeaLeaf;339327-always left the front right tentacle

-Grips called on TS with all DPS targetting for 1 hit to remove 20% HP and stop Grip

we follow this way?

Azunai

We've sort of smoothed that out a bit by now. The fight is predominantly a coordination fight. Do the right thing at the right time. You can actually last for quite some time if you make a mistake, and actually recover from it. Not killing a tendon in 1 go doesn't mean that it's a wipe! Obviously though, if you don't kill any of them in 1 go, it'll put a real strain on your healers, especially the later ones as blood adds will be spawning like crazy because there are more puddles. Here's TL's little list converted into a step-by-step plan:

1. Kill all tentacles save for the front right (use your parachute period to orient yourself, it can be a bit confusing as to which is front and which is back). Tanks pick up Amalgamations.
2. Gather on the left side in a puddle. Do this coordinated so no one stays behind and gets thrown off.
3. After DW rolls, get out of the puddle and redistribute across the platform. Kill the remaining tentacle which will spawn an Amalgamation.
4. Focus your DPS on the Amalgamation, but don't take it past, say 15%, and stop your dots at 20%. Have the OT pick up blood adds as they spawn and kill them together in a small area away from the Amalgamation.
5. Use some designated ranged DPS to break Grip -> Grip breaks by dealing 20%> of the Tentacle's hp in damage to it. Be careful with this, you do not want to take it too far or kill it. This will spawn a new tentacle and an extra Amalgamation.
6. Stack the Amalgamation to 9 stacks by dragging it through the blood (this will take some time on the first plate, as the bloods spawn from the puddles and you will only have 3 of those)
7. Make sure you kill the Amalgamation ASAP once it reaches 9 stacks. It's really important that you have it low enough, because the AoE pulse hurts a lot.
8. Use the time it takes the Amalgamation to explode to kill the remaining tentacle. This will ensure you do not get a Grip on your DPS while killing the Burning Tendon.
9. Kill the Burning Tendon. There shouldn't be much else going on, so everyone should be focussing on dishing out buckets of DPS at this point.
10. Should you not kill the Tendon in one go, use the Amalgamation that spawned from the tentacle you killed at step 8 and go to step 4. Should you kill the Tendon and lose a plate, go to step 1.

Repeat 3x :-)

Take it one step at a time, focus on your part, and you'll overcome this bugger.
