Strykers post in the servers section ("Fancy Some Halo" topic) about the previous simpsons night has reminded me of the fabled "Theme Nights" idea that seems to have died a thousand deaths.

I won't mention who said they would organise it, but could someone take responsibility?  I would but don't have the rcon gubbins to load up servers, rules, etc.  I am however more than happy to assist in map playtesting and searching for the necessary models, guns, etc in order to make it a top night.

So much potential for a beery night of fun and japes that we shouldn't let it die.

Perhaps organise it on a sunday night when there's no match - lets do it before Santa comes calling and everyone goes their separate ways for the hols  :)
If I wanted you to understand I would have explained it better

Uploading maps and settings to the server is something e.g. OB could do, but right now OB, TL and me are busy pulling the last things together for the TCS relaunch (next week). What you can do though is to download the maps (save the bookmark) and test it yourself on your own computer. Another option is to talk to BlueBall and ask nicely to use his server for testing. He has loads of maps on the server allready.

Suggestion on theme night: LANMANIAX. They have released some really interesting and good looking maps lately.

Time for the theme night: any Sunday 18.00 and forward.

Keep the map list short 3-5 maps/per theme, so we get to try them out properly.

Cheers,

My CS server is underutilised so if anyone provides links to maps that work with CS1.6  then I'll happily add them.

All dMw admins have RCON rights on my server so should be able to admin if I am not around

Sadako - I have the PAF movie theme pack, as well as quite a few from Lanmaniax.  The real question is "what kind of theme night do we want".  No point in testing a load of maps on BBs server if there isn't the will to play them on the night.  Perhaps a poll is due to test the waters.

I agree with the sunday night idea - this is when you'll get most interest.

Also, sorry I forgot bout TCS launch and the hassle it brings, but perhaps one of the new admins should take it on as the existing admins are all busy with TCS.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

I wasn't buggin matey - I mentioned no names   :)

Let's not play the blame game, and pull our fingers out.  I am more than happy to assist, and seeing as we have about six weeks (to the day if I'm correct) then crimble shouldn't be an excuse.

Let's rock n roll by starting off with a poll (oooh that rhymes) to see what folks wanna do

if you wanna be Theme Boy then rock and roll matey.

Personally I'd say TCS will need a bit of time to settle. in Add some map testing time and an agreement on the Theme itself and then finding a date that most people can play and you will indeed be in the thick of Xmas. So maybe an Xmas theme?

Winternuke we've seen before i'm sure.  Maybe have been with old clan tbh.

If it's the same LOTR maps i played a while ago they we're ridiculously small and seemed like they'd had about 20 mins spent on em.
