This topic has been discussed lately on teamspeak and the forums. I thought it would be a good idea to do a poll on weather we want health regeneration on the server.

This is in regards to Player's health regeneration and vehicle

Well I find it quite useful for when the medics aren't sharing medic packs, I think it would work when you are working with some guys on TS in a squad then you can actually get some health or ammo instead of wildly jumping around in a publics face to get his attention.
it\'s not my fault if every one runs into my sights :D:byebye::roflmao:

Surely it would encourage people to give medic health packs rather than running round like headless chickens....I know i get annoyed when people don't give ammo etc. But then again even if somone doesnt at least its more realistic

Is there an option to slow it right down?
I'm generally against it but as TE says, it's useful for when there are a lack of medics.

i dont like the fact you can regen to full health after 30 seconds of no imbound fire etc so you dont even need an engineer for tanks helis etc

Actually.. it's all or nothing.. There is no option to slow it or ....

Bazer_Punk

Wouldn't mind seeing it gone, it's so anoying if you have a medium distance standoff, just hide your head and you can shoot out again, was one a few nights ago that was equally stubborn as me, think we lasted almost 3 minutes before someone else got me :)

Vargen

It's already hard enough to kill vehicles, and it would also stop snipers camping on hilltops to some extent, as they can no longer just stay down till their health is regenerated.

I haven't got this yet, but with CoD we've always played in hardcore where your health wouldn't come back. It would reward good teamwork and give medics plenty of points as reward for healing people so I'm sure people would adapt quickly. If it can't be adjusted then it should be off if teamwork is the main objective as it's basically a safety net for the lone wolf.

I also don't play BF3 (so I've not voted in the poll) but I would suggest health regeneration can't be good for team play. As an Arma 2 player we don't have this feature and while Arma 2 and BF3 are quite different games there is a common principal. Being very aware of your own vulnerability makes you think much harder about how you approach a game. The more you value your health bar the more careful and team oriented your game play will be. If you're looking to increase team oriented play I think removing health bar regeneration might be worth investigating?

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

I would say we want anything that rewards teamwork. The only thing I don't like about full out hardcore mode is that it doesn't allow for spotting. It rewards spotting with points but it doesn't actually do anything, so it makes motion detectors, UAVs and spotting pointless.

Playing as a proper squad with balanced classes and bonues makes the game really shine. Ninja is also looking into some fun stuff to promote teamwork, but I shall leave him to that. All I will say is I hope he can make it work, as it is pure awesome and made of win :D

Health regen is awful, it's properly put me off playing BF3 at all.

Disabling it would certainly make our server more appealing.

i have to agree with what many are saying on the subject its got to promote more teamwork right?

This is also one of the reasons I like the reduced health of hardcore mode. I would love if we ended up closer to hardcore, with the addition of spotting/tags being enabled. Semi HC mode, kinda :)

So that would make it:
No HUD
No kill cam
No regen
Less HP
FF on <--this I still would hold off a bit on though
