Hey guys,

so let me explain myself. I wondered about the "server policy" here. For example was there any Community Site poll about the healing modification on the server? Or are server modifications just be "decided" and not "discussed" here?
Another thing, when there are just 12 players on server, why don't you guys change the map to some smaller and rush mode. Why you guys wanted to play big conquest on Caspian border with just 12 ppl? It wasn't fun, it wasn't war, it was just running from one flag to another...

I didn't take a look on the game files, but there should be some possibilities of scripting. You should add a Auto-Map-Vote cmd on ending map. It is not that hard.
Let server check game status (get_tickets_count, if ticket_counts < than 30 cmd = auto_map_vote (mode, map) (mode, map)) or something like that. Also let server check current player numbers...

You could also add a killing streak mode which is not that hard, too.

My main thing is just, the server is just 1 of 10000 out there. There is nothing special on it. The only good thing I noticed is that there some admins online who kicks at least the "jumping" guys athough they are not that annoying to me.

Another thing, DickDastardly is the only admin I noticed who seems to care about the server. He is posting admin msg, warning players. Almost every other dMw is just "playing" and not "caring". They didn't even react on my question to change the map.

Seriuosly, the BF3 part of your community has potential, it could grow to a big community with a big group of "core players" who are playing on the serv and discussing on the forum. You should think about giving non-dMw ppl admin rights when they donate for the serv for example. Don't make it a rule that you only can become admin by joining the dMw clan / community mix.

As you know I was the headadmin of a really free gaming community and it was the best "virtual life" time I had until now. I was searching for years for a new community and I would really like to see that this community could be my new "virtual home" :P ....

I am eager to see how you guys think about my words...

Well, the dMw tag does not signify an admin. That just labels players who have been awarded the tag through playing according to the dMw ethos and the gaming standards. Playing tonight, I only saw two admins on, Varg and DD.
When it comes to scripted behaviour on the server, from what I've understood the server/admin tool package provided just isn't quite there yet.

As for changes to the server, they have been (hotly) debated both in TS and on the forums, and changes are tested to see if they have the desired impact or not. The decision to remove regen for instance, was done to get rid of a bit of the arcade/Halo/MW2 feel of the game mechanics, as well as making sure it was a good idea to bring the medkit. After all, the medkit has been the single most useless piece of kit in the game so far, since everyone regens after a short moment anyway.

I think that anyone who plays on our server is enouraged to check out our website and to make posts where nessesary be it good or bad feedback. & i for one always welcome any feedback given.

When i made the poll on server regeneration i wanted to do the poll for everyone not just dMw. Members & as such it was open to everyone. ( & the poll should still be open as i didnt put an end time & is still open for discussion).

I Didnt expect it to be turned off but i put it down to a vote as i know a few of us felt that it did'nt promote people to play the dMw way ( for example being a medic but not actully using the teamwork nessesary to be a medic. healing team mates etc). I feel that with it being changed from my experince playing with pubbies on teamspeak and in game aswell as dMw. BF3 Badge holders it has made a difference with teamwork. Having to rely on squad members working as a unit is a big deal to me as i like teamwork (o dont care about points) & same with engineers they actully do there job.

Admins work hard to police the server to make sure people have a fun gaming experince & thats why i joined becuase the bc2 server had structure and order to it without being to unrealistic with the rules (i feel and hope we are working towards that in bf3 but lets be fair  IT'S Still an EARLY game & i'm proud of what we have achieved so far with the server). But YES there is i feel room for improvement.

At the moment i dont have the admin power to change maps but yes i do agree with you while tonight was very fun 13 players on our server wasnt fun (but hey its a weekday & a thursday people are either tucked up in bed or down the pub on the most part), I have discussed the fact that when the server has roughly this ammount of players it's a bit pointless playing a massive map - double tickets on conquest/rush becuase it gets a bit boring and repetitive. I hope there is someway this can be changed during late nights when admins are on.

As for scripting i cant imagine its hard to do no...but i have very little knowledge on the subject so i cant comment.

"You should think about giving non-dMw ppl admin rights when they donate for the serv for example" - if it was my descion (which it isnt) i would welcome the fact of a "public" admin for the people so to speak but i think being an admin comes with alot of responsibily and needs alot of dedication its not as simple as playing a game being an admin...oh look i can kick people. With my very little knowledge of being an admin it takes alot more ADMIN first game second...Would a public admin really want to do this & care about the welfare of the server as much as i or any other trusted admin would? i doubt it. Theres also alot of other things that fall into it (forum dedication(again not mandatory),teamspeak participation (while its not mandatory its useful to chat to others when people rule break to notify the admin....etc etc.... It's a very thin line and while i like the idea of it, I wouldnt want to make a descion to give a public admin rights to a server which is mainly suppored by people wearing the dMw tag.

Feedback please.

Thanks for your input :)

I can't comment on the scripting or killing streak but I imagine Ninja_Freak and his team will look into it.

The question about why healing was removed has been answered. Basically, our core gaming ethic includes objective-based game play with a strong emphasis on teamplay and making the game as realistic to life as possible. People who voted on the poll (rightly) chose to remove it for those reasons.

Firslty, we're not a clan, we're a gaming community. So long as members display a certain amount of maturity and  respect for other players then all are welcome. We have an open-arms  policy which is not restricted by skill, age, location, language or any  other barrier.

Replying to your comment above, I'm not really sure why we'd need to do that and what possible reason we would want to do that.

As you well know, there is so much more to being an admin that just sitting on the server.

If they were not a member, how would an admin know of our gaming code of practice, ethos and standards? How would they know what the server rules are, what's been decided and who to look out for as persistant  rule breakers?

We don't want or expect people to donate to the server. We are a FREE gaming community which is funded solely by those members attending our bi-annual LAN events, those who voluntarily donate £12 per year and other donations. There is a certain expectation that admins *should* be supporting members but we have had, and still do have, admins who are not.

If it's too much to ask someone to bother to sign up to the forum and participate then I would question their commitment and whether they have the right mindset to be an admin.

Cheers
