Problem installing a second hard drive

So  ive installed the hard drive fine bios picks it up as does device manager but it doesnt show up in my computer:blink: scratch that i see it in disc management as 'disc one' but doesnt let me format

you on xp or win7 if XP right click my computer then manage/ storage then disk management and make sure it is active in there.

Can you see if it in computer management?

i.e. right click computer icon on desktop > manage > storage > disk management. It should appear in the list. It may just be that you need to initialise it and give it a drive letter etc.

it shows in device manager but not disk management so not sure where to go from here.
