So some of us were talking about this tonight.

It'll be my first time going, so I don't know a great deal about it, but it should be full of awesome nerdtastic crap - something for everyone.

Me and Peanut are going on the Friday, for most / all of the day, with a bunch of other non-dMw n00bs. I'll be hanging around in Birmingham after the show to see the might Meshuggah with a some chums, too.

If anyone fancies a meet up either at the show, or after for a cold beer, post away and we can set something up.

Keep calm and carry on gaming, folks.
Your friendly neighbourhood Chaosphere.

Myself and AL-99 are going (also on the Friday) - we're travelling up from Kent the day before, staying in a local hotel and will be there nice and early on the day.

This is my third Gadget Show Live and AL's second. Last year they expanded into two halls, but I felt there was less "there" as it was more PC World and Panasonic, than "Professor crackpot's Cat toilet" and "Flying penguins" than it had been the year before.

See you there dMw!

yeah im going with my dad (arithonuk) and my second time so hope to see some of you lot there

Was just looking at dates for this and I'm on nights Thursday finishing at 6am Friday morning :(

Don't even think Pollyanna would be able to keep me awake for the whole of the day.

I love gadgets, but I've never been to a show like this. Is it mostly consumer goods like tvs and digital cameras, or is it more of the offroad gadets and cool toys they have on the show?

I can't make this as I'm in Peru, but it's something I might be tempted by if the gadgets are good enough. I wouldn't enjoy it if it feels like walking around a typical electronics store...
Juggling Hard Disks over concrete floors ends in tears 5% of the time.

They've got the "usual" stands for major stores and electronic giants, but they have many small stands with start-ups, a few technical way-out-there- stuff exhibits (cat toilets, flying penguins, AR drone) and then gaming zone, test track (electric skateboards, future-bikes, segways, RC demolition derby & stunt display etc.)

There were less start-ups last year (which was a pity) and the gaming zone had expanded, but gone all "console". However, several PC component suppliers such as eBuyer were there with some sweet deals on gaming kit. Big nVidia stand sadly obsessed with 3D :(

And lots of stuff besides. Al-99 got his photo with three BBC Daleks that were patrolling the show.
