So I'm sitting here in my Holiday Inn room in Belfast, bored and really thinking it would be a great time to get some levelling in....

Dammit!

sheepy

and it costs a silly amount of money for proper internet access?

Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

Time to buy a proper laptop, not one of those silly fondle-slab things :)

Yeah, that's my plan too. My current one sat crying in the corner after I tried SWTOR on it.

depending on ure budget try CCL for a custom laptop (so you cna pick spec etc) or try alienware, as there only laptops ive found that cna stand games for excessive amounts of time

Asus and MSI are worth a look too.  I still use my almost 4 yr old 17" Dell XPS too (now called Alienware) for gaming when I'm away from home.

The new AW versions have a lot better cooling solution. I've taken apart a few so far and I must say I want one. The price is a bit harsh though, but then you get what you pay for. They could have made the cooling fans a bit easier to get at for cleaning them, but that's just me being picky ;)

I have SWOTR on my desktop machine at time. Can I run it on more than one? I kinda presumed that wasn't possible.

Would I just copy the whole game directory across or do I need to install again? I guess the machine needs to have disk 1 inserted does it to make it run?

Thanks

BrotherTobious

You should be able to DL it and install it, it just the client when you log on it will let you play.  As long as your not logged in twice :)

I have SWTOR on two machines and it works fine. You could actually log into the game from any client on any PC. You'll get asked one of your five security questions if the PC isn't recognised, but that's it. Like most MMO's SWTOR doesn't care what client you log in from. It knows if you have a subscription and you must have bought the game at some time to enter the product key, so they are happy to let you log in from anywhere.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Thanks.

So can I just copy and paste the entire directory or do I need to reinstall it? what about the settings and custom binds, can I migrate them?

Thanks

BrotherTobious

up to you, but I would would do a install, as for personal binds you will I think you will have to reset them up.

Some settings are stored in (for win 7)
c:\users\[your name]\appdata\local\swtor\SWTOR\settings
Should be to just copy and paste those files. Especially the GUI-files may be of interest. But I cannot find where the keybinds are stored, must be on the server...
