I would have joined you all but the game fails to patch, it keeps needing to repair. I've managed to do about 35gig in the last 2 days, which is bad considering I have a 10 gig limit :(

I've googled and found swtor forum posts about running it in Administrator (done) and deleting asset files that may be corrupt (done)

Any suggestions would be welcome

Well, if no other options are open, Ie could always send you a DVD with the files on?   I'm assuming it's similar to WoW in that we can copy the entire directory and paste it into another PC?

Your assumption is indeed correct!
When I'm near my monthly cap of ~40gig and it's a patch day, I simply copy from and and paste to the other.

That would be great TL, I'll pm you my address. No rush mind, I'm not likely to find time untill the following weekend.

Thanks :)

Small consolation but I have an identical problem with the game. It will not patch on my 'Big Rig'. However I can install it on a small Windows XP partition on my ancient second PC. I just haul it over the network onto my main machine and am good to go.

The concern is that this patch fail might happen with every update and they're coming weekly at the moment? The upside is that it seems you can install the game on a PC that is so low spec (mine) that it has no possible chance of actually running the game. So if you have an old laptop etc you could use that for the install and then move the whole SWTOr folder over to your main machine.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Apparently the checksums they do on all the patch files are very sensitive so they advise you peform some checks on the hdd and memory. I didn't think it would be the ssd so ran memtest86+ and noticed a crap load of errors. I've removed the duff memory (will need more) so now im running on 4gig of ram.

Sadly I'm stuck with a restricted line. I've used all 10gig I get for free, all 10gig of my allowed budget and have managed to clock up 26gig when it was speed restricted (probably not restricted at night). If I up my budget I will end up paying something like 1.49 per gig for about 38gig. I think it's time I found myself a decent isp.

thanks for the help :)

Hurrah.. well sorta

Installed on different hdd and it patched fine (after upgrading my broadband to a different package). I was having issues with the resolution (monitor not receiving signal), I managed to get around that by running in window mode but now it won't find the servers, possibly a few ports need forwarding. Maybe later :)
