DPS Threat question?

With no threat metres in the game I'm wondering about DPS on OP bosses. As a marksman specced Sniper I'm all about single target damage and so theoretically if anyone is going to do too much DPS and draw agro from a Tank it's likely to be a Sniper. I'm fine with the idea of a relatively slow start to DPS to give the Tank time to get hooked into the Boss proper. What I'm not so sure about is how easy it is to over DPS a boss and take agro back off the Tank. Is it something I should worry about or do game mechanics mean I can just get into my rotation and only worry about energy conservation and maxing my DPS?

Some advice would be appreciated, thanks

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

This hasn't really been a problem when we have been doing ops. Most cases of over aggro have been on HM flashpoints. Almost all classes have a threat reduction ability and atleast the Sorcerer can reduce threat of group member by pulling the target to him. Not sure how much threat reduction abilities have been used by the DPS at the moment but only times I use my pull is on larger groups of trash if someone very squishy is attacking the wrong target.

The thresholds is 110% more than the tank for melee and 130% for ranged to pull aggro,
so ranged have a little bit easier and can push thier DPS a bit more before pulling the boss/mob of the tank.

Wow, that sounds strangely familiar!

I would just maximise the DPS unless the tank actively complains. The jugg has two taunts (single and AoE) and I'm pretty sure they do not share a CD. If you inject your threat reduction as needed then provided both parties are threat aware it should be a non issue.

I always pull aggro, sometimes multiple times, but I have solved it by using "vanish" early in my rotation and using it whenever it is up since it also increases my force regen.
