In this post we discussed the use of grenades. Now we will show some tricks you can do with them (no juggling jokes, please!).

Bouncing a grenade of a wall is a skill necessary for attack and defense. Bouncing a grenade is something every CS player has done, but there are certain places on specific maps that are better than other. We will give a few examples, but experiment with it yourself and you’ll find there are quite a few places on quite a few maps where the skill can give you a tactical advantage.

Italy
On Italy as T there is a very good wall to bounce a grenade off. However, it is rarely used.

If you bounce of a grenade where the crosshair is in the image it will land in the entrance to the wine cellar.

It is perfect for terrorists when defending the middle corridor. You should remember that it could be used both ways but it is harder to get it right when throwing from below. Make sure you have some forward movement when you throw. A throw from a stationary position will not work in this case.

Another spot on Italy is the area just below the window at the top of short stairs. Terrorists always tries to throw a HE on the counter-terrorists below but the grenade almost always lands too far away or rolls down the steps of the stairs. The trick is to move away from the window (towards long tunnel) and throw the grenade whilst stationary. We want as little momentum as possible so that the grenade will drop down just below the window.

Inferno
Inferno is another map with great bouncing bomb possibilities. Counter-terrorists by the right/top bombsite (not new route) can use ‘walling’ when defending. The two examples below show where you can aim and where the grenade lands from Ts point of view. A flash or two will effectively stop or at least stall an enemy’s rush.

In the middle there is also a good wall for the CTs to use.

As a T on this map you can bounce a grenade on the ground instead of using a wall. This spot is especially useful if CTs come rushing down and you need to stop their advance.

Dust 2
This map is our Swedish Barnes Wallace favorite for bouncing bombs! The best grenade bounces are at short A. As CT it is always hard to defend short A if the Ts rush is swift and you were last out of CT spawn. Even if you spawn closest to short A you will still meet the fastest Ts in the middle area at the end of short A. Try throwing an initial flash here.

This will stop the Ts that have been very quick out of spawn. The second flash should be thrown here.

If the Ts have come short A you will be able to pick some blinded Ts off. You can always combine the last grenade with an HE before you rush in.
Sometimes as a CT you use short A to get to a bomb planted at A. When you arrive at the bombsite you are often down to a 2v2 etc position and there is often a T is hiding behind the boxes at the site, so why not you try this grenade throw?

You need to stand on the wall to get the grenade to be bounced of the small wall at the bombsite.
