Are you applying for a Raider position, or Social membership?
Both, actually. Primarily I'd like to join as a Resto Shaman for your RGW, but if that position is filled or my character isn't what you are looking for I would still like to join as a social member. Note: I know that Roxanda is missing enchants, but if I am accepted this will be taken care of.

Tell us a bit about yourself! Who are you? Where are you from? How old are you? What kind of work do you do?
My name is Daniel and the last time I went for a pee I was male. I am 29 years old and will hit the big 3-0 next October. I was born in Germany but am living in the Netherlands since I was 9 years old. I am currently unemployed because of a burn-out a few years back that I am still recovering from. That doesn't mean I just pick my nose all day and play WoW, but I do the occasional volunteer work, and I help out a local social foundation with their IT matters.

Tell us about your personality, and why you enjoy the game.
I enjoy a good laugh, although some may say I have a weird sense of humor. I would call myself helpful and generous, but can be harsh if this is being taken advantage of. I have been called honorable by an old guild member as well :g: The reason I enjoy this game is mostly the friends I've made over the years. I've tried to quit WoW a few times in the past, or have taken a break from it, but am always drawn back for the people and atmosphere of it.

How long have you been playing computer games and what kind?
I have been playing games as long as I can remember I guess. My first console was a Nintendo 8-bit, my first pc a 286. I have played all kinds of games through the years, from all genres, but have always been drawn to RPG's. Games like Baulder's Gate, Icewind Dale and the Final Fantasy series. My first 'big' MMO was Everquest, but over the years I have tried quite some others, like DC Universe Online, City of Heroes and Aion. Have been playing WoW since Feb. 2005, with breaks in between.

There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us?
There are 2 reasons actually. The first being that I keep getting bugged by one of your members, Mellisanda, to join you. To get rid of her nagging I had to apply (still love her tho). The second is that I've heard some things about your guild and after reading the forums, your philosophy and way of working I think that I might enjoy it in DMR and I could be a valuable member for you.

What other guilds have you been in and why did you decide or were forced to move on?
I have been in multiple guilds over the years, , , what later merged and became and had different member statuses in them. I am currently a member of but am leaving them if I get accepted by you. This recent switch is because after I left Per Aspera I was looking for a guild and I tried Fighting dutchmen. I am leaving them now because I don't really fit in there. There are a lot of younger players, and as this isn't a bad thing, who are quite immature in speech, behavior and interaction. Also, they tried to set up a raid group but because of lack of commitment from members this hasn't made much progress.

Who do you know in Dead Men Raiding? How do you know them?
As mentioned before, I know Mellisanda. I have known her for some years now, when I joined her guild she had then. Been friends ever since. I've also had a chat with Moonslash about joining, after doing some runs with him and Mellisanda together. Not sure if he remembers this since he was pretty wasted that night :roflmao:

Have you read our 'what we look for' and 'philosophy' posts? What do you think of them?
I have read both, and they are one of the reasons I am applying now. It is exactly what I am looking for in a guild and I would love to be a part of it.

What do you look for in a guild?
A fun-to-be-with community mostly. I see WoW as a serious hobby, and one can't enjoy a MMO hobby without some nice people around. Next to that, I love to raid with people that are like me, people that can enjoy a joke or two but that can be serious when work needs to be done.

''Dead Men Raiding'' - What comes to mind when you see that guild name?
Zombies. Just masses of zombies... Killing bosses ofc.

What are your plans for the game? In what way would you like others to know you?
Biggest plan at the moment is finding a place I can call home. Like I said before, I don't really fit in the guild I am at the moment, and that really lowers the gaming experience. As for my long term plans, just the same as always I guess. Raiding, leveling alts, gearing them and start all over when the next expansion comes. In that process I would like to be known as a friendly, helpful and funny guy one can rely on.

Name one thing you don't like about WoW in its current state.
There are a number of smaller things that can irritate me from time to time, the biggest issue is the missing 'fresh run' box for the LFR tool. After 1,5-2 hours of getting 2/8 and 3/8 runs I can be quite annoyed.

A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do?
That depends on what way and why I am offended. It takes quite a lot to get me offended for starter. I know that there are a lot of different opinions from mine, and I am an understanding and open guy. If I do get offended I always start with a /w to that person with a how and why I am offended. If this doesn't solve anything I usually avoid contact. Not joining dungeon runs with him/her or things like that. If it's something that continues I report the case to an officer, but always with an explanation and proof like screenshots.

Which evenings of the week are you available to raid?

Can you and will you speak actively with other guild members on TeamSpeak and in guild chat?
Yes and yes. Be afraid of my heavy Dutch accent tho.

Do you have a stable internet connection?
Yes, as long as the hamsters keep running that is...

What sort of frame rates do you get when raiding?
Around 30-ish is standard. Only Ultraxion 25 man can lower it sometimes.

What kind of raiding experience do you have?
I have been raiding since Molten Core, with different chars and different roles. Mostly healer in MC and BWL, dps in Kara (haven't done much other TBC raids since i took a break for a year), tank and healer in ICC and Ulduar. Haven't raided much Firelands but when I was dps or healer, and cleared DS as mage with Morchok on HC. Also have 5/8 done as healer.

Why did you decide to play this class?
At the moment I have one of each class, since I am an altoholic. My main of these 3 are a holy/tank paladin, an arcane mage and this char, a resto/enha shaman. I chose this char to raid with because of the different feel it brings when healing. My main is the holy paladin, or at least it started as my main an is still my achievement char, but the shaman has its own unique play style. I have always been a healer/supporter in all games I have played and i love that role, and with the different totems the shaman fills that role perfectly.

What do you think your class' role is in raid content?
As resto shaman I'd say keep everyone alive so the bosses won't come for me. Next to that, help out with different buffs and dispels.

Comment on your build. Why did you choose it? What do you think of other builds of your class? Why didn't you choose one of those? (important question)
If you mean my spec, resto, it is because it's a healer spec, and as I have said before I love that role. It has a feel of importance to it I can't describe. And ofc for the shorter queue's. If you refer to my point distribution however, it is because of play style. I like the extra mobility Ancestral Swiftness gives for example. I am looking to change to http://www.wowhead.com/talent#hhZbhZcGbMsdfksd though, since that is the top build for the moment according to some sources.
