Red Wednesday/ End of RO2? - Thoughts please :)

Unfortunatley RO2 hasn't been as great success as i thought it may have been within the community *holds hands up* :sad:  .  Also it seems that the player base for this game is mainly other parts of europe which doesn't help us when we are looking for pubbies to join.  As i would suspect when most people  look for a server to play on they look for 1. your ping is half decent and 2. one within the same country/area as to where you are and for us this i think is one of the big factors we face when trying to bring people to dMw.

However, sometime this year, Rising Storm (DLC) is due to be released.  I propose we suspend our weekly Red Wednesday nights for now but still host either 1 or a few nights each month for RO2 for the players that do enjoy the odd game.  By the time Rising Storm is released we could re visit Red wednesday depending on the interest within the community and whether the player base outside of the community is growing because of the release.

Can i have peoples thoughts, ideas, suggestions (other GL's feel free to chip in)

As much as it hurts me to say i dont think (as i did pre release) that RO2 is going to benefit or help the community as much as i thought it would do or would have done.

So to sum up, the choices we have are:

1. Suspend Red wednesday, possibly bring it back if popularity grows at the release of Rising Storm (Details by the way can be found in the main RO2 thread)
2. Carry on as we are, and still see what Rising Storm brings.
3. Let RO2 run it course and not bother with Rising Storm (not one i would favour)
4. Give Sparko a kick up the backside and tell him to learn Russian

Unfortunately sometimes a game just drops in popularity, It's not the first or last time this has happened either.

My view point is that you have done well in continuously trying to keep this game alive and the servers populated, you have tried different game modes, configurations and other ideas to draw interest, but as stated above, it's just down to the game itself I'm afraid, not much else you can do.

For me personally, I have pretty much stopped playing as I don't get much from it now, don't seem to level up at all therefore my weapons and accessories / attachments are limited, but even saying that, the game is missing something I can't quite put my finger on.
 
I hope Rising storm will be free and will hopefully bring something new to the game.

I kind of agree with most of what Snokio says.
I still enjoy it, but it doesn't hit my g spot
I'll always turn up for a fight, but lately it's been 1v1.
If the server doesn't cost us anything, then I think we should leave it up for a bit longer.
Maybe the DLC will spark it back to life.
