I didnt put the title "Merging Guilds" that would put away many people, but i was thinking about it recently.

Anyways, i was a leader of a dying guild and it's frustrating to trying to find more people to play with and eventually i made the decision and came here with a firend of mine, Draxter. Only two of us were really. The guild was originally started by ex-wowers (excluding myself) from Poland and they just didnt like the game and left one by one until it was too late to resurrect the guild. In fact, our guild was absorbed by Yours with great benefit, though its only two people really. I'm certain that there are some groups out there that feel similar and have maybe about less than 10 active members. That really puts away the fun.

What we could do is to advertise about that, make our terms and start the negotiations. I know that wont be simple, but that will make our gaming experience better, keep more players in the game and take a mutual benefit from it. I feel that it's a good time to do it now, because when the server merge happens, we could have a hard time catching up with the others. Especially that i didnt see any threads or chatter like that either on the unofficial server forum nor the Fleet chat.

Give it a thought and comment, please!

Cheers!

I'll toss my hat in as Head Admin.   We've always supported this sort of growth so long as whomever is coming onboard abides by our general ethos.  Toby can catch up with me on TS as to what we can do, but in essence we're keen on supporting gamers that increase the footfall through this site and thereby the cross-fertilisation into our other games, LANs and events.

In the past we've hosted the SoG WoW guild (in the days before Dead Men Raiding) and then also agreed a formal merger into dMw to become our official dMw WoW gaming guild.  The more the merrier, so long as it is by our rules.

We can post here our thoughts into consideration regarding the absorbing process (and to add a small bump to the thread to get Your attention of this important subject ;)). I'm at work so my focus goes elsewhere, but i can type the first point:
  • Guild can retain their raiding group and ops days, with help from us whenever we're available and vice versa

Will add to this probably later today I havant forgotten :)

This in theory is a very good idea and gets my support for it. Like Voyak says I think this is a game wide problem of people leaving and moving on due to lack of content in the game once you hit 50 (yes this might or might not get fixed in the near future). But agree also with the warning signs that should we absorb other guilds into ours that we make the rules and requirements clear to all joining. Because we are more than just a SWTOR community we will have something else to sell to interested parties and can even run a trial plan for perspective players, e.g. create a new toon in the guild for a few days and see what we are like etc.
