RGW: Requesting Ready Check before Boss pulls

Please can we always do a ready check before we pull a boss. I find it very helpful when a rc is done as that's the point to stop any messing around and focus and there can be many reasons why people may not be ready (like discussing new spine tacs on monday, sudden pull with no warning, lead to raid wipe)

Personally I find the Ready Check vvery useful, it gives me enough warning to stop messing and get focus'd (very important with my adhd) and get my kill face on (http://imgur.com/xZycW)

I'll disagree, totally.

In my experience, what a ready check does is to 'train' your raiders that they mess around, not pay attention, go afk without saying & still be fine because they will get a warning in the form of a dirty great big 'Ready Check' clang when they need to pay attention.   So in summary, the RC can do exactly the opposite of what you intend.

OTOH, if you never use a RC then your raiders know that you WILL pull even if they are not there, because none are ever used.  They therefore learn to pay attention during the raid (whilst still having fun) and to let officers know when they need an AFK.

RGT don't use Ready Checks and seem to do perfectly well without them.   I've raided with a fair few other raid guilds and the last time I used Ready Checks was back in SOG/Molten Core days, none of the raid guilds since then have used them........ and thank goodness imo.  

If someone needs a ready check to tell them to stop watching TV/listening to music and pay attention to TS & the game screen again then perhaps they should not be raiding?   You only learn who these people are by not using Ready Checks.  

Long may the ban on Ready Checks remain in force in RGT!   :clap:

You don't need to, the officers learnt that you don't pay attention and that's why we sit you in the queue with the dunce hat on........

Just want to clear up. When I say "Messing around" I'm talking about a bit of friendly banter, making a joke, having a laugh. Once the call to get ready goes I drop it and get ready.

I still think ready checks are useful. Like the raid last night where I was requested to change spec, without the ready check the pull would have gone ahead with me on 5% mana and calling for food.

 The worst thing is when, after a failed RC, others will follow :doh:  .. I prefer TS calls   :blink:

I dont really mind if theres a RC or not, fine either way as longs as theres a countdown from the tanks

RC checks don't bother me at all.  Atm the only person that has ever said anything about not liking them is Ice Hawk, and he's been with RGW for a month or so
