Loktor

My name is Mathias Lykkegaard, however most people call me Matt ingame simply because it's easier. I am from Denmark, and I'm 20 years old (28/6/1992). In my spare time I work at the local gym and at the local gas station, and when I don't work I hang out with my friends and play music (Mostly drums, but also bass and guitar). At the moment I'm living with my family (Mom, dad and sister) but if things go as planned I'll be moving into my own flat this summer, when I start studying either Geography or Anthropology.

As for my internet connection I'd say it's fairly good. According to the test I just took my DL/UL is 40mbps and my ping is 5. And since we changed our internet provider the internet has actually never crashed on my computer.

I have an ASUS computer with the following specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz (8 CPU's), ~2.3GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
My gfx card is pretty average. But still good enough to run WoW smooth on the "High" option in "Game Menu -> System -> Graphics"

I fell in love with computer games when I was 9. I started playing Counter Strike 1.5 on my Windows 95 and I absolutely loved it.
Since then I've owned a Playstation, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, a Nintendo Wii and an Xbox 360.
I started playing WoW when I was 13.. So yeah, that's 7 years ago. Jeez time flies.

I've gotta be honest with you and say that I haven't got that much raiding experience.
I never raided in vanilla WoW, simply because I was too young and still didn't quite comprehend this vast new RPG.
Then I did a little raiding in TBC (Karazhan, Gruul's Lair etc.) In WotLK I did Ulduar, Onyxia's Lair and VoA. In Cata I did a little Dragon Soul (1st part).

So far I've been in: "Dawnsong" back in TBC but when it started to fall apart most of the members including me moved to "Bridgeburners" which back then wasn't really a raiding guild, as they are today. Then I took a break, started playing some Horde but came back to Alliance and Aszune and finally "The Ironthorn Wolves". But since Mists of Pandaria was released the guild has started falling apart. Unfortunately now only one Officer still plays actively out of the many there once were. Tragically out of the 951 members we are, we rarely see the roster exceed 5-6 online players. Even the Guildmaster doesn't play anymore, so I decided to move on to new adventures.

Well these are the characters I play the most:

EU|Aszune|Alliance|Loktor, Draenei Shaman 90
EU|Aszune|Alliance|Lyros, Worgen Warrior 86
EU|Aszune|Alliance|Liyan, Pandaren Rogue 85

I don't really have plans for the game. My attitude towards Word of Warcraft is pretty laid-back. I try to enjoy it and have fun with it, but I have never really committed myself 100% to it.
I am outgoing and I joke alot. I like to laugh with my guildmates, and this is how I'd like others to know me. I enjoy playing obviously because the game is awesome, but also because it is so peculiarly easy to strike up a conversation with someone you have litterally never met, and probably never will meet. Meeting new people is always nice. I like how the real world becomes so small when I can sit at my end of the screen and be part of something with people from all across the world.

If I should name one thing I don't enjoy about WoW now it would be that even though it is the single largest MMORPG in the world, they have still managed
to make the game 'beatable' without you needing to socialize at all. In other words, even though I enjoy the Dungeon Finder and Raid Finder systems I still think they have taken alot of the social aspects out of WoW. I can level from 1 to 90 without ever talking to another soul and I don't quite think that matches the "MMO" infront of the "RPG" if you catch my drift. I miss finding other players, or getting invited to go on adventures with other players. Also I think the general attitude has changed quite drastically in WoW. Back in the vanilla days most people were alot more tolerant and casual. Nowadays if someone doesn't get the tactics he's a "noob" and is very likely to get kicked out of a group. If someone is new he is excluded from most things. If a group wipes a boss in a Dungeon Finder chances are at least one or two of the group members will carelessly leave, whereas before players would have a more optimistic attitude towards it.
Sorry for all the whining, but hey! You asked :-P

^The link for my main. I know my gear isn't all great and shiny but I'll have you know that I am replacing my trinket with the VP one after next VP cap :-)

I started my Shaman the 17th of January 2007 so he'll soon be 6 years old. I started him because TBC had just been released and I had never really tried Shamans. I instantly fell in love with the whole "one with the elements" style. And yeah, I've been playing him ever since.
In raid content my Shaman would be DPS, he's elemental specced and he's very happy with that :-P
I chose my build after testing out a few other combinations and this was the one I was happiest with. I later checked Noxxic.com which backed up my notion of having chosen the right build. Choosing a build these days also is quite abit easier than back in the days. Not a whole lot of possible combinations :-)

I'm looking for a guild with a very casual attitude towards raiding and the game itself, and was therefore positively surprised after having read your 'Philosophy' and your 'What we look for'. So far, for me at least, this seems to be a match made in heaven considering my approach to the game. Also humour is a big part of good guild in my opinion so I'll always be looking for a guild with alot of fun blokes. In my own conceit the social part of a guild should always be more important than the raiding progression and the skillset of each player.

To be honest not a whole lot comes to mind as far as Dead Men Raiding goes. I'm not sure I understand the question, or maybe I'm just missing something :-)

Well as I mentioned earlier, we share alot of opinions regarding raiding, social conduct, how to behave etc.

I don't know anyone in Dead Men Raiding. I just spoke to the Guildmaster of SPQ (Kinaru, Human Paladin) who recommended I'd try look you guys up, and whom also said that Dead Men Raiding had, and I quote, "Great leadership" which is never a bad thing ;-)

A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do?
Cake or Pie?

I would probably pie. Jokes aside, I would confront the guildie and let him know I was offended, and try to solve the conflict in an orderly matter.
But I am pretty hard to offend so I can't say that I'm speaking from experience here.

Well I think that was it for me. If you have any questions don't hesitate to send me a pm ingame, or if I'm not online send a mail to my Shaman. Either way
chances are I'll probably be more active ingame than I will on this website, at least for now :-)

At 03:22hrs I was sleeping soundly!
At 08:23hrs I am still somewhat sleepy, so:

Are you applying for Social membership or a Raider position?

I'll assume Raider for the time being and we'll assess the app on that basis unless you say otherwise!    Give us a chance to discuss it amongst the officers and we'll get back to you asap.

Goodluck with the app :)

xaeven

Good luck with the app :)

Hi Mathias and thanks for the application.   The officers have discussed options with both of our raid groups, but unfortunately neither group has an opening for an elemental shaman at the moment.   However, we liked your application, so we'd be very happy to offer you Social membership for the moment so that you are best placed for any future vacancies that turn up in the guild raid groups.

Let us know if this is what you would like and thanks for your application. :)

That sounds very nice! I am sorry I've been so late to accept your offer, but I was of the understanding you would contact me ingame ^^

But yes, I would like an invite to the guild as a socialite :-)

But if you want to get back to me about this could you do it over WoW mail? I know I'm in no place to set any demands, but still :-P Chances are my respose won't be as late as this was :-P

And thank you for the opportunity :-)
