4 Week Ban - Chaosphere

Guys,

Tonight at around 7:45pm we as we were playing on our server on SDM, it was pointed out to Chaos that the use of Armour when there were only two squads was not permitted. When this was pointed out to him, he responsed by saying "so". I thought that a more detailed explanation was in order. Which I provided.

At that point Chaos decided that it would be appropriate to launch a verbal assault against myself and saying all sorts of things like "calling me out" and suggesting that I abuse my authority as game leader on the server.

I have therefore issued a 4 week ban.

Not looking for feedback. Just a record of the event is all.

As I'm sure you're aware Chaosphere is complaining about the 4-week ban you issued him earlier.

Can I please ask that you don't enter into further PMs / correspondence with him directly  from this point on so we can handle it accordingly. Also, please, don't discuss with it with others who were online at the time. You know about due diligence and all that.

Bizarrely, I was testing recording on TS earlier and had I done so earlier it would have captured it all but alas, I didn't and was just seeing how much bandwidth it used. I chose your channel as it was active and set the channel to record and left it running- without being online myself. I probably should have given you a heads' up but it was a pure test and deleted afterwards. I was interested as we've had some problem in CS:GO recently. Interestingly, a 10-minutes record is 100mb so not small !

Anyway, please don't talk directly to Chaosphere now and I'll tell him to do the same.

Is there anything you can add to your comments above?

Our processes demand that someone from Council reviews it and gets both sides and hopefully and independent so please bear with us. It's an insidious position for us to be in but we would remiss if we didn't follow our own procedure.

I've thought about the length of the ban. But as your tape will show (I also want to ask why that was on in the 1st place) the punishment meets the crime. I will take it to PM with you.

Sorry I don't have the recording..... I didn't even listen to it. I just checked the filesize and deleted it.

As to why? As per my first post..........

 We've had a quite a few complaints recently about language in  behaviour on TS (on the CS:GO) channel with various people complaining.  This prompted us to post up another reminder about language and VC's in  general. I was looking into it and saw you can record channels so I  thought I'd test it. Your channel was busy so I set it to go and went  AFK. I ran it for 10 mins and came back to see how long it was (100mb).

HI Folks,

Thanks again to the Council for clearing everything up.

I've exchanged PM's with Chaosphere and we're back to an even keel. Due to his apology, I've reduced his ban to close of play Thursday (yes.. feeling soft).

See you on the server. (now it's finally up!)
