The new update spawns hostages in different places for each map.
For example, one of the hostages sometimes spawns in the wine cellar.
This obviously renders our boundaries obsolete as it is a place where T's are not normally allowed.

Fairly easy to deal with on Italy as we just allow the cellar to be in bounds, but I haven't played all the cs maps or seen all the different permutations.
We'll have to have a look at all the standard cs maps and see what we should do. (the non standard maps are not affected afaik)*

* I was wrong, all our hostage maps are now using the new method

i havent tried the latest build, tho i read somewhere they changed the behavior of hostage maps.. please correct me if its wrong

Now:

Only one hostage is required to win
CT's carry the hostage to safe zone

That is correct ducky and the rounds are only 2mins :(I know Blunt and whitey have been looking at this time issue.

The Hossie placement is easy enough to work around with common sense.
However, the round times on both cs_ and de_ maps has been reduced to 2 mins, which ruins tactical play.

We are striving to find a remedy and to put the times back to normal.

round times are perfect now, sadly the hostage mode is still silly... thank you valve!

I think the new hostage mode could be fun.
The T's have to find and protect the hossies and the CT's have to find one to rescue.
The T's will have to work closely together to defend and if needed re-organize themselves if the CT's attack an isolated hossie.
It would be a pain when there aren't many players but with full or nearly full teams it could be a laugh.
Loads of scope for diversionary attacks and the T's have to play a very defensive game.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.
