Where's our platoon?

Duvel and myself have been pretty much watching the tumbleweed all week and I wanted to know where everybody has gone. After looking at the stats, it seems as many are playing elsewhere, as are not playing at all.

We're unable to get the Deadmen server seeded, while frequently members of the platoon below are playing on other servers and are not on dMw TS.

As you can see, many have "gone dark" and are not playing BF3 any more. However, more than a few are still playing BF3, but haven't graced our server for two months or more.

Should these players remain in platoon, or even keep their tags? Your thoughts?

Sorry to Butt in here but this sort of naming and shaming I think doesn't work and I know that it has annoyed a number of people and rather bringing them back just in some case feel not wanting to play.

Just my 2 cents

It's probably incorrect that I haven't played since nov/16/2012, didn't we do a Xmas comp?
Also, I definitely haven't played on any other servers at all.
So that info is wrong.

FYI I no longer play BF3 as I refuse to buy all the extra DLC since Karkand

Arithon means more that while we are playing, we see people join other servers. There's nothing wrong with that off course, but if we see 3 dMw's playing on another server and we're just trying to get our server going, why not join our server?

Um.. This is the Admin channel. The Admins are big boys and shouldn't take offence. I think it's just a realisation that our platoon aren't as active as they used to be.

On a side note! Lil Ninja and I will be back on the server tonight.

From my side i do see you guys on seeding the server but i join another (Burn Him!)

but why?

Nothing more than just wanting to jump on for 20 mins of madness get my fill then move onto my next fancy. If i was to jump in to help seed I just end up running around then having to leave anyway without getting my fill

I think on Friday it went the other way ... Ill join for a quick blast of BF3. Ok the sever is full, Im not going to be on that long so it would be unfair to ask for someone to be kicked

Just a couple of examples

I spent about two hours going through GameTracker server stats and BattleLog to compile the data.

Because nether site tells "how many times" just "when" I can only determine when a player has been active on BF3 and when they were last active on our server. If there was a two months+ gap, it looks to be that the player is inactive, but if they are still recently active on BattleField, then they are playing elsewhere. It's a logical conclusion based on the data.

I posted on a private (or so I thought) BF3 admin channel because I have no intention of "Naming and shaming" - I want to find out how to get lost players back and weed out the dead ones, so we can create an active player base and thriving server. I posted the info for Ninja and Duvel to look at and comment on.

The order of the list was the order of the names in the dMw Platoon (sorry JaS, you didn't win).

If you have anything helpful to add, other than GameTracker or BattleLog have their dates wrong, please feel free to throw in.

I was thinking of posting a poll to ask "Why aren't you playing BF3?" - I can't see that being offensive to anyone.

Certainly nothing wrong in having a poll to ask where people are, that's best practice if nothing else.

Although these channels are  game specific, it's been designed so that Game Leaders of other games can see, spread and post in all these channels because they do hear and see things which are germane. It's the same for Council.

Just to pick up on the tags in general, we do not remove tags just because someone has stopped playing a particular game. There's nothing wrong in creating an active player list and removing people from your platoon but I'm not sure you can just remove their tags. That's not their purpose.

Im not sure why people aren't playing and if there's anything you can do to find out it can only be a good thing. I had no idea the player list was actually so large. The biggest disappointment s people playing elsewhere. That's not good and well done for picking up on it. How do you solve that?
