What do you guys use for your devices?

SWMBO just got a SGS4 to replace her iPhone 4. She needs an application to manage playlists and podcasts to replace iTunes. Preferably one that I don't need to configure. A dedicated podcast management app on the phone might be good as we don't need to store them on the pc/server. Playlists should be transferable between PCs if possible (e.g. relative-path-m3u?) with easy sync that handles copying the MP3s to a phone.

Thought winamp might be a good option as I use it to dump music (I don't bother with playlists or podcasts though) on my nexus 4, but inside of 1 hour trying to set stuff up it crashed and killed its database twice, and on sync was duplicating/triplicating/etc files on the phone. Other than the crashing and duplicating it could be okay for playlists but it's podcast management is a bit ugly.

I have no experience with Google play music but it looks like a cloud storage thing, and not really what we want. Must work offline.

There's some Samsung app but I don't want to be stuck with frustrating bespoke software, especially if it doesn't work with non-Samsung devices. To be fair I have not yet tried it, my scepticism is based on various other manufacturer's clunky software.
