Lets keep it all about racing. No dog or cat pics.

Real life pics (Andy and his bike for instance) would be great.

Jackie Ickx was my all time fave, and to see that car again ( I built that Revel Model 1/24th ) it just makes me smile.

Only pic that could make me smile more would be to see LameDuck in a go kart :roflmao:

So, post a pic, LFS race, real life, what makes yah smile...keep a thread alive.

If that pic breaks forum rules by posting a link, well i'm sorry. This is the racing section.

Ant

p.s. and we think the RAC is hard to drive!

It doesn't so no apology required, but remember you can use the {img}imageurl{/img} tags to embed the image in your post - replace the {} with []

Yes, I showed that link to remind drivers and fans of racing...that's a top notch site, covers all aspects. Also , like many others...I get lost in Dead Men Walking...it's friggin' HUGE!

Guys like you Tea, Jamin , the Admin for Dead Men Racing, and all others..it's a nice place to be this DMR.

AAnt

Heck If I wasn't a Cabbie, I'd apply to DMR to get turned down.

Lameduck

These cars were outlawed by our Goverment, even though the car found it's way to USA Presidents (LBJ) had one. We built them and then realized, this is a bad idea. Now some Nut case, is going to give a false sense of driving in the water and more people will drown, it's not that they can't swim, it's "Honey, quick grab that widget out of the glove box while the car is sinking.

Apart from the Army/ Marines, no one has made a safe car you can boat in, or fly.

Whats next a motorcycle that's also a .......fill in the blank, someones problaby working on it.

Ant

p.s. he got around the law by claiming these are heritage items..it's the dumbest idea since the Reliant Robin.

Jamin

As a kid growing up on Lake Windermere, I used to see loads of Amphicars. On the water they were slow, noisy and cumbersome and the wake from other boats would wash over the sides and fill up the cabin, on the road they looked stupid and were slow, noisy and cumbersome. There were glass fibre versions that were fast enough to get on the plane but they cost more than a decent car and speedboat combined.

Don't get me wrong. I'd love a car that would do what I want, sometimes the only way around Seany or Duck is to fly (as in the Gooner Photo)

I've seen people water ski behind the amphi....but leave it to the army to make a refit.

Found this for 3.99.

An Amphi car beat the channel, 1965...bunch of Army dudes. Quite the feat. Kinda like Richard Hammonds "Oliver" crossing a desert.
