A very quick game, free and run in a browser.   Might be a laugh to see who gets the highest score through the weekend.

King Arthurs Gold look interesting, up to 32 players in 2 teams building defensive and offensive stuff then attacking. From the makers of Soldat.

Currently Pay-What-You-Want for the Beta access, on sale on IndieGameStand.com

And there is a free version for those not wanting to buy, looks like the bought version gives more customisation and a single player mode, but the code appears to be the same for both with just a login for premium access.

Brought Chivalry in the sale and quite frankly it is excellent for a quick run around and kill people. Not tried the objective versions or CTF but definitely something worth having a bash at before or at the lan.

Liking this game, would be a great laugh, hacking off arms and heads with my battle axe is cool (complete with spurting blood).

There are several game modes, CTF, Objective, Deathmatch, Conquest,Duel.  The potential for hilarity is big in this one...

Unreal Tournament would be a laugh, I've got a communal copy plus patches etc.

Chaosphere

All our Gods have abandoned us.

Sn00ks

UT, cheap easy to play and everyone's PC can run it.
If it moves shoot it, if it doesn't move shoot it until it moves and then shoot it some more. What else do you need for a LAN game?
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.
