Seems a bit early to me, but the rumor is that it will be closely based on the LG G2 which is expected to be released August, so you could expect a 5.2" full HD (1920x1080P) 2.3Ghz Quad core Qualcomm snapdragon 800 Process, 2gb Ram, 13 MP Camera and running Android 5.0 Lime pie.

he only thing I don't like about the G2 so far is that the home button is close to the space bar, on my current LG (some positions) I keep hitting that instead of the keypad spacebar loosing my text :ranting2:

Timing sounds about right. The Nexus 4 was aimed at being a high end device for a budget price. Every year you'll have a new flagship phone, so the next has to follow suit to keep up. I know they're doing the S4 and HTC One through the play store, but it's not quite the same as true Nexus by all accounts. Plus the prices of those are a different ballpark.

It's a personal thing but 5.2" is getting just that bit too big for me, especially as I have a nexus 7 as well. I know better than to fall for the megapixel nonsense so I may well miss a version and wait for the Nexus 6 or whatever they call it. However if your not on stock Android then if it's a sub £300 phone I think it would be a solid buy.

I'm locked into my S3 contract for a while yet, so I might have to give this one a miss.... we'll see :)[/COLOR]

I've got an S3 too. It's not about being locked into a contract that puts me off (you can buy a phone and upgrade at any time if it's sim free), it's more that it's too little an upgrade to spend the money on. Something like the Sony 6.5" waterproof phablet is a huge leap in what the phone is and does, if that was £300 I might be tempted because it's so radically different.

Based on my experience so far I want my next phone to be over 5", waterproof, have great battery life and wireless charging built in using a standard charging technology (not through expensive backplate replacement). The A4WP protocol would allow easy charging, just place all your products in a box and they'll charge. I'm sure by the time all those features are eventually incorporated into a phone there'll be a host of new "must have" features that I'd want to add (The comeback of fingerprint readers on phones prehaps?, 3D Camera?).

My ipants contract is up in September - I could renew now if u wished but hanging on until more news of the 5 comes out then its either the galaxy s4/nexus5 or if not impressed/it's delayed then most likely buy the nex4 as I can't wait to get away from iOS.

I'm assuming that there will be a slightly different EU version then (I hope) as none of the current UK 4G/LTE carriers use the bands noted in the Droid-Life article?

Perhaps the EMEA version might be the D821 we've seen on the web?

Rumor now is that the N5 will be released 14th Oct and will have Android KitKat 4.4 installed.

Please refrain from using branding on this forum, the official name for the new version of Android is Android four point four or simply four four. We do not promote Nestle products within the dMw no matter how delicious and crispy they are or how they give such an inviting snap when you break them in two, or the almost sensuous way you can slide a finger nail down one of the grooves splitting the glistening foil wrapper..........

I'm really looking for to the slow build up of the rumour mill, size, spec, price. I've not had my N4 for that long but I'm certainly planning on trading it in and snagging a new one.

The N5 is certainly a nice looking phone. If the specs and price are right I may well pick one up. Since I've switched my girlfriend to Android I can now offer her my s3 in order to justify getting a new phone.

You obviously haven't eaten one in a while, the foil wrapper has gone, it's just plasticky paper wrapper now :(

N5 has been spotted on a benchmarking site, GFXBench, which confirms it will have the Snapdragon 800 chipset clocked at 2.26GHz and will be 1080P screen

again, this is only rumor! but a pleasant one because if true it will kick butt, although suspect price will be moderately high
