Hi,
Thought i'd share something i got into that was a direct result of playing on DMW. Airsoft! I've always enjoyed physical activities and a friend got me into it, so whilst i've missed playing on here, i've been shooting the s$$t up for as close to real as i care to get! Still awesome to be back and i've now got CS:GO which is just awesome!

Walk on fee for various sites can vary between £25 and £45. That includes ammo, face protection (compulsory if your a walkon) and a gun (AEG). The ammo will last the full day (3000 rounds). Its worth going to an army surplus and getting some cammo trousers and shirt, standard green type.

I've managed to find my self playing with a private club that mirrors the ethos we have here on dMw. Team play and honesty. If you want more information then let me know. As a day out its a lot of fun.

I've had a go at Airsoft - it's a lot of fun, especially if you get in with a group of players with 'gucci kit' (radios, smoke grenades, laser pointers etc).

My only issue with it (compared to paintball) was some players aren't exactly forthcoming when they know they've been hit :sideways:

Also, you don't get the satisfaction of seeing your opponent hopping about and cursing because you just landed a round on a sensitive body part :laugh:

Saw what a ClassicArmy M4A1 airsoft replica does to a beer can, and decided that Mil-Sim or VS Airsoft wasn't for me.

I do see airsoft as a supplemental training aid to my perferred physical sport though, IPSC shooting. In countries where real guns are banned (like Japan), there's even full Airsoft IPSC leagues. With Norhtern Ireland being the only part of the UK where handguns are still OK, I suspect the brits might be up for the airsoft version as well?

Next mission; to find a blowback airsoft handgun that matches my own competition gun in weight and trigger pull (Sig-Sauer P226 TacOps)...

We've played Airsoft at da_Ricci's bachelorparty. Good fun until I got hit from less then a meter away and the guy kept firing. It ended in da_Ricci in a bunnysuit and we had to hunt him down. :flirty:
