...it really does. Decided to buy a wheel finally. I bought a new shiny G27. After installing it and some testing I noticed how much it stinks. I mean the leather coating on it has a chemical odor which creates slight irritation in my hands too. Luckily it has been getting smaller now. Maybe the wheel is some fake copy :g:

Noticed another thing what stinks. After 2-3 years away from racing my driving stinks too. Especially with wheel. :sideways:

So smelly greetings for everyone :norty:

Anything happened in these years?

Jamin

Welcome back Aquilifer, it was great seeing you on the server last night, your driving is fine, perhaps that stinking wheel will slow you down for a while :D

Nothing in game has changed but we race over two servers now, ours for the Thursday race and the Dominant Monkeys for their Sunday race.

Seany

Happy smelly Christmas Aqu :), great to see you back around.

It did have a smell when I got mine, but it was just a kind of leather smell.

I doubt it will take you too long to get back up to speed.  I hope your using the full amount of degrees, that clutch pedal and the H shifter :) !  If your going to get used to a wheel, may as well get used to the whole lot.

Happy Christmas Aquilifer :D

Fear not, young legion standard bearer, the smell will disperse with time or as in my case, you lose the sense of smell.
Nothing slow about your driving, you just need time using the wheel, the one hour race was an ideal opportunity.
Nothing really new about LFS, there's a rumour that S3 is due any time now, or in Scawen speak, 4-5 years.
Nice to have you back.:yahoo:

Aquilifer

Thanks guys.

Trying to get used to the wheel. The consistency is far from what is used to be (unless the consistency to mess up is counted) and if it was my wrist getting tired with mouse now it is my brake foot/ankle.

I need to get a new headphone before I can join the ts. The old got broken.

Hi Aqu and everyone else there! You bought a wheel and are back to racing! It must be great.

I've been thinking of racing quite frequently, but have not had a real chance for at least two years. Now this year I might finally be able to build my cockpit again. The past three years I've spent most of my spare time on renovating the old house we bought three and half years ago. The biggest projects are now done and I might be able to find some time for hobbies as well.

Well I've not spend all of my time on home improvements: I'm now a father of three and the youngest one is just two months old :) The oldest one is already 8 and sure he would like a real racing cockpit as well. He's already an enthusiastic Need For Speed player with his Wii U.

You got me inspire Aqu, I'll make it a target to have the cockpit installed in February! I just can't dedicate on being a frequent visitor, but sure I'll have to try..

Bob, are you back to racing? How is everyone else doing?

Jamin

Hi Romus, great to hear from you after all this time :D

I guess you have heating now as the last time you were racing you said you were all wrapped up in clothing as it was -35 in there.

Seany

Hi Romus, Congrats on the new little one! :) .

It would be great to have you back racing with us now and then, when you can make it.

Lameduck

Hi Romus, nice to hear from you again, it seems there is a Finnish revival of interest in LFS as beside Aquilifer, we've had Mauni return from his travels in the past few days.

Congratulations on your new arrival and on completion of your building project, we look forward to seeing you back on the track.
I'm back to racing as I'm on a new group of super drugs, so you have one easy target to pass :)
Another easy target is Aquilifer,   who is struggling at the moment with his new wheel:racing:but it wont take him long to becoming another flying Finn:)
Hope to see you on track shortly :)

Hi Aquilifer,
In regards to the hour race on Feb 13. After watching the replay, I'm truly sorry that I couldn't avoid your spin. I had Iceman right on my tail and really the only other option was to hit the grass on the right. I will try to use avoidance tactics better in the future, and sry for the extent of the damage to your car and as Ben pointed out, reset is always on.

Be well and see you on the track.

No worries. I wasn't blaiming anyone (except me). It was bit hectic racing side by side on a wrong line trying to avoid hitting anyone. When I looked right where other people are I managed to go bit on grass (or side curb?) and lost it. After the spin and collision tried to continue to the pit but the car was totaled. I wasn't aware about the reset option.

Romus

Great to hear you are going to join too.
