We're working on updates for LFS.

Can't say any more than that or we might get into trouble.

Goodbye thread!

Looks cryptic but means nothing as an update to the existing game won't cut the mustard, it's too old now.

AC going multiplayer looks to be the sim of choice until a new, complete rewrite of LFS comes out.

Neys

Well, I for myself will wait for the first reports on AC multiplayer before I try to get that beast running; I fear that AC will be beyond my current HW's limits :-/ It looks like the time slot for supplying LFS with updates is closed now (it has been open for a long long time, but sadly it's not been used).

Aquilifer

The update speed has been annoyingly slow. I cannot understand some decisions like not publishing the Scirocco yet. I read that VW is already making a new body version for it.

I don't know if the game needs a complete rewrite. If it is nicely modular, it would should be good with a graphics engine and models update...and physics.

I have AC too, but lot of small things irritate me at the moment, like the interface is one of them.

RLR Luchian

AC will definately fill the void/need of LFSers, but I still believe there is room for LFS also. It has something organic in it, and also being around for so long it already created a bond with the audience that goes beyound "it's just a game". This only I reckon would still sell the S3 when/if it comes out. Add a bit of melancolia, a bit of curiosity.. Also, with the rewritten DX9 code one could hope for some graphical progress also..AFTER the phisics update..
Beeing largely/masively played online as it once was..that's another thing. I guess AC netcode should fail bigtime.. :).
Personally, I will purchase S3 on day one out of respect and admiration for Scawen, even if I might never play it as much.
Hoping only that it DOES get finished.. :).

Boo! :byebye: I do pop in here from time to time and I'm amazed that LFS is still going! This quote from Aquilifer (terve) reminded me of what I thought a few months after the VW was first shown. VW, at first thought it would be a good idea to have the Sirocco in LFS, then they saw the stupid things people get up to. Crashing till there's just a wheeled chassis running around etc. then they imagined the screen shots and the papers reporting teenage car crashes and thought...Nah, best not. :) iRacing, on the other hand has a completely different image. Anyway, carry on with what you were doing. :)
