Lan XXV - Packing List & Instructions Thread

This thread is to provide you with a packing list so that you remember to bring everything you should bring to the LAN along with a guide as to how to ensure your steam is up to date and that you have the relevant patches / map packs etc.

Please make sure you  have all the map packs and such installed from the Workshop the two below are very important.!!!!!

CS:GO Workshop Page
L4D2 Workshop Page

Also please load up any games we have that you havent played in a while to make sure they are all working etc.  We have had some people thinking it was all good but it wasnt and missed the comps.

IMPORTANT:
Do this ON THURSDAY NIGHT ABOUT 10.00 PM. IF YOU DO THIS FRIDAY MORNING YOU MIGHT PICK UP A STEAM UPDATE THAT NONE OF THE REST OF US OR THE LAN SERVER WILL HAVE. THEN YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONNECT TO THE LAN GAME!!!!

Thursday 10.00pm
1. Connect to the Internet
2. Start Steam

3. **CRUCIAL** If you DO have the 'do not save account details on this computer' checked then enter your password and UNCHECK THE BOX. If you don't you'll loose your password details from the login screen and will not be able to play CS at the LAN **CRUCIAL**

4. Log onto Steam
5. Click 'Exit' on the Steam menu and quit Steam
6. Disconnect from the Internet
7. Start Steam and when the dialog box appears click 'offline mode'
8. Make sure Steam starts and you can fire up CS
9. Exit Steam again
10. Try restarting Steam again.
11. Run a complete Anti-virus scan.
12. Go to bed
13. Wake up
14. Go to the LAN
15. Buy Ninja and Brother Tobious a beer (make sure you pee in it before you hand it to them)

In a nutshell just make sure you can connect to Steam without being asked for your password. If you are asked to type in your password you're not going to be able to play at the LAN

DrunkenZombiee

You mean "Bumpage" and not "Bumbage" which sounds like "Bumage" as Bumb is not a word but the closest one is Numb which has a silent B.

BrotherTobious

Thanks guys and see you there.

A FINAL REMINDER TO EVERYONE PLEASE

1. Please remember that we are not the only guests in the hotel and we ask that you keep your language moderated when in the public areas of the hotel - especially the bar area and restaurant.

2. Please be polite and courteous to our hosts as we do not want to jeopardise the excellent deal with have with them (use of a room free they normally rent for £500 per day + subsidised room rates).

3. We are not allowed to bring in alcohol from offsite. The odd can or little bottle subtly secreted may be one thing but bringing in a case of tinnies is certainly not acceptable.

3. If you have any problems or queries then please tell Ninja or Toby (or myself or Tealeaf) and we will do our utmost to sort them for you.

4. Enjoy yourselves

Thanks!
