I've made 3 attempts to race on our server and have been unable to do so.  Not allowed to book, race in progress(no indication of how long the race is,) and unable even to join a qualy session. I do so enjoy watching a blank screen.
How easy it is to join an LFS session,change cars, tracks,etc. and that's 10 years old.

For anyone who is receiving the ACS.EXE has stopped working whenever you try to start a session (for me it was happening in Single and Multiplayer) the workaround that has worked for me is:

Modify the follwing file: \SteamApps\common\assettocorsa\system\cfg and open assetto_corsa.ini

Set the option: WARNINGS_AS_ERRORS=0

If this does what it says on the tin, then there must still be a little issue causing a warning, but at least I can now play the game again.

From initial impressions, even though I could not actually get to race last night, the Multiplayer interface is pretty poor, the booking system is...well pants, worse even than the old NetKar system, which although limited by the way the game creates driving session will never be as good as the LFS system, at least worked...

Hopefully I'll manage to get on track with some of you in the next few days.

I just thought I'd share my 1st Multiplayer experience.

Mugello, BMW GT2 (I think.)

On 1st joining behind a player with high ping, wasn't a nice experience, car jumping around in front of me like a mad thing.
I managed to qualify 3rd of 15, and all but 1 car had similar ping, (high ping car was at the back thankfully), and got into a decent rhythm in the race. after holding P3 on 1st lap. Cars 1 & 2 just very gradually easing away, then car in 2nd span, ok P2 things are looking up, 3 or 4 laps later, and the leader half spins, fantastic, P1. I then ran in the lead and was (from map graphic indication) holding the gap to the cars behind, I was thinking that the former leaders had over cooked teh tyres, sometimes I was loosing a little one lap, then increasing it the next, and was managing pace, so as not to slide the car too much, in order to manage my tyre temps.

 Then came the weird bit, no one overtook me, but suddenly I was in P2, then P3, I'm just wondering whats going on, I now have a car in front, and I'm catching, (this guy turns out to win the race) I have a go under brakes, & get a big thump for my trouble, no problem , I correct the slide, then car goes for the greenery, I'm still not sure if just a continuation of the slide, or I got a thump from another (ghost) car, but after a little trip through gravel, I'm back on track P5 (Arse) (last lap, double arse.) and that's how I thought we all finished.
However results show me as P4. so someone either went off on last 1/2 lap or ??

I didnt get to save a reply, so I cant check. Baa.

So, overall the driving is fine, movement for laggy cars needs to be smoothed, the bumps from a collision seem a little over egged, but as long as cars have similar speed / direction is ok, but larger collision seem to be a little ott, (ok, a lot OTT) but the biggy is the issue with invisible cars, that needs to be fixed.

Good to hear Deetz! (about the crash fix) (I think the race position thing is a bit of a prob at the mo.   I saw some similar posts on The official AC forum)

I have only done 2 races so far, but the second one with Button was good fun.  I really hope they can do some thing with the whole joining server system.  I want it to be like LFS, but I don't think that is going to happen. I did expect the fist incarnation of of MP to be very basic and it is.   I am far, far from giving up on it though.  Even those couple of races yesterday showed me that there is huge potential and when you get on the track and race, it is fun.

I want to do some Monkey server racing tonight to get some practise for Sunday, but I think I will try to get on Assetto earlier if I can (between 19:00 and 20:00).

Finally made the track tonight, thanks to Seany and the guys :worship:assisting me in my dotage.
Talk about clear as mud. I'll bet Kunos itches his left ear with his right hand, the joining/booking system is crapola.
Not having driven this track before or the Lotus Evora, my performance could only be described as dire, as I could'nt
keep up with the others. So its back to single player practice for me, together with configuring the steering/feel of the car.
I had FFB so high that I thought the G27 was about to blow and it was akin to a springy-sponge to steer.
Will give it another go when I've sorted  my controller out.

Well managed to get on the server when it was empty so I least I know I can connect ok now

off topic, started trying to figure out the skinning side of it with a very basic skin... more to follow when I get the hang of it

That looks a lot more promising Vobler, out of Interest do we have a steam group of any kind, be a handy to see if any of us are online racing rather than having to start AC up and check the server.
