With almost everything now on the internet, ever bigger game patches, cloud storage uploads & retrieval, movie streaming via premium content providers etc, I thought it would be interesting to see how much bandwidth people use each month and how that relates to your data cap (if you have one).   I'm on an unlimited package with BT and apparently my home (with 4 people and >4 computers) has an average monthly data usage of 246.67 GB.

How about you?

I'm on the same tariff as you TL my average usage is 60gb that's with 2 of us in the house.  Only been on it for 3 months so that will probably rise considerably in the future, also only just started using all the download perks on sky as I've only just hooked it up to my broadband so that will increase it further

Jamin

I'm on Plusnet Unlimited Fibre and the missus and me used 41.55GB last month.

Jamoe

Eclipse ADSL - 50GB Limit - probably use on average about 20GB. Although this month I've done almost 50GB after getting steam up and running.

Most of our usage is browsing and LoveFilm Instant.

Sneakytiger

I'm with Virgin Media. They currently don't have any limits or caps on download speeds but are pretty harsh on uploads (so I have to upload clients photography before 4pm or overnight). There's also a lot of Netflix and iPlayer use. Virgin don't seem inclined to provide any details of how much data I've used so I have no idea.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Gorion

Currently 150GB monthly and any downloads between midnight to 6am are not counted, so that's when I usually do my heavy downloads.

There is no throttling though, and unlimited is available at a slightly higher price point with increased bandwidth rates.  Exchange to DSLAM run on fibre.

Then again, I'm not in the UK...

I'm on an unlimited PlusNet connection, and somehow have managed to rack up 284GB last month

Apparently 130GB of that was 'Web', which I find hard to believe - maybe it's classing Steam downloads as browser traffic?
