dMw are pleased to announce that at LAN XXVI the real ale bar at the hotel will host a 'dMw preferred ale', one which YOU can choose from the selection below.

Please VOTE for the beer you'd like to see hosted.  The winning ale will make an appearance at LAN XXVI!

The choices are:

Quote from: Timothy Taylor - Boltmaker 4%Overall winner Gold Award @ Great British Beer Festival 2014
Winner Bitter category - Gold Award @ Great British Beer Festival 2014

Beer type: BITTER

A well-balanced, genuine Yorkshire, Bitter with a full measure of maltiness and hoppy aroma.
2014 CAMRA Supreme Champion Beer of Great Britain.

Quote from: Oakham Ales - Citra 4.2%Overall Silver Award @ Great British Beer Festival 2014
Winner Golden Ale category - Gold Award @ Great British Beer Festival 2014

Beer type: GOLDEN ALE

The first of our single hop variety beers. We were the first brewery in the UK to use Citra. The beer proved so popular that we will be brewing it again. Permanent from January 2011.  A light refreshing beer with pungent grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas leading to a dry, bitter finish.

Quote from: Elgoods - Black Dog 3.6%Winner of multiple past CAMRA awards.
Gold medal - Brewing Industry International Competition 2013

Beer type: MILD

A traditional dark mild at 3.6% abv. It has many CAMRA awards to its name and is a well known brand in the free trade. The beer is well balanced with a full roast flavour. The use of Crystal malt and Roast Barley give a deep underlying characteristic flavour, which is balanced with Fuggles hops as the sole variety.

Voting will close on Sunday, so vote NOW!

what other ales are available though on tap as if there is no other good bitter I would have voted for that.

This is a nice addition to the lan set-up, good stuff indeed.

Short answer: no idea, but there is always a bitter or two on tap.

Yes. In addition to our 'special' there will, of course, be the other ranges of bitters, lagers and ciders on sale.

I'm a cider-head myself so shall be availing imbibing heavily on Rosie's Pig (and hence not voting).

Do many others have cider as the drink of choice? If there's enough demand we can try to do a similar theme for a cider.

Oakham Ales are always good, so they get my vote :)

Never mind that 'other' vote that's going on, this one is important, there's just four days left to decide on which real ale we want at the LAN!!

Would love to try some of the Boltmaker as we miss out on the taste during the Beer Festival due to it's popularity. The fact that we might get a keg of it would be a real winner.

I spent my intended GBBF visit time this year sitting in a hospital accompanying my father, so I'd quite like to try the Supreme Champion Beer of Great Britain too!

Close voting though!

Very interesting that one of the options has no votes.

I went with the Oakham in the end.

Must be something to do with the strength of the alcohol =)

What Gortex said, though it's a pity we can't have all three!
