Some guy has been making rally stages for Assetto.  This is one of the first full Dirt stages.  It is a wip and collision of tress etc are not in place, but its totally drivable and lots of fun.  I find it interesting to see how Assetto behaves in other areas like this, I thought some of you might too.

Other interesting cars you may have noticed! :norty: :

Lada
This is a great mod car and very fun on all tracks.  Give it a try (Nordschleife, Joux plane etc all great).  I would like to use this for an Online combo at some stage.

1981 Datsun 720 king cab
A really different vehicle and lots of fun.  Yes, it is called a "Drift truck", but don't let that taint your opinion.  Anything with this much power and no weight on the back wheels will Drift easily :D.  This is great on other proper race tracks too.  It has special non overheating tyres, normal tires and semislicks.  As with the Dirt physics, I think it is interesting to see how other non standard vehicles fit into Assetto's physics. I also would like to run this truck at some stage for a online combo.

Well, let me know what you think of these cars/rally stage.  I love 'em!

That looks interesting. I think AC doesn't have much off road physics yet. It doesn't e.g. dig in dirt so sliding sideways is too easy.

I have driven that kind of Lada in real life. Is it realistically emulated. Like are the side mirrors turning against the windows when going faster than 50 miles per hour? Is there a noticeable dead zone in steering center (like you have to turn the steering wheel at least 10 degrees before the wheels begin to turn). :norty:

Side mirrors turning at 50 :roflmao:  Unfortunately this is not implemented :D

There is quite a bit of "play" in the steering though.

I like the way it bounces about.  Some guys are saying, in the Assetto Forum thread for this car, that it is too bouncy.  I think it seems about right, but I have never driven one :).  Maybe he would like your input!

You are right about Assetto being a bit too slippy off road, but that may be just the road tires we have.  If you let some pressure out of them they seem to grip better.  A great car for offroad is the E30 M3,  it feels very natural to me.

Aquilifer

I tried with E30. The track is great even in early stage. Lots of fun even with these small issues

- Timing doesn't work (the stage takes c 4 mins for me with E30)
- No co-driver telling what is the next turn (seriously reduces the speed because you rarely see the distance what it takes to stop the car)
- Needs a car with street tires (no slicks) like the normal E30, but then you cannot e.g raise the suspension
- AC force feedback goes nuts often when gettin off the track. Here off road feedback is sometimes insane
